How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Katy Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My vet clinic of choice for 15 years and 20 "unadoptable " rescue dogs based on their age, temperament and life long health issues. Katy Vet has taken care of each and every one for their retirement years.

Great experience. The ladies working there are so sweet and are happy to help. We ended up having to come back for our vaccination and expected to have to pay for the visit anyway, but they didn't charge us. We will be going back this week for our vaccines and check-up. Thank you Katy Vet Clinic!!

If i could give zero stars, I would. They did not care about my cat. I spent so much money in the past 3 weeks there just trying to figure out why my cat was sick. They didn't even have the decency to check on my cat during another scheduled visit I had. The doctor didn't even come speak to me. The doctor/owner didn't even want to call me to tell me her thoughts or answer any questions I may have had about my cat or to see how he's doing. Instead she just emailed me test results. She also added in the email that she can send my cat's records to another vet since I'm unhappy with them. They are so unprofessional. It was never like this before. I think Dr.Cleavinger must've just took the clinic over and that's when it started going down hill. I would definitely avoid and find a clinic that cares about you and your pet and actually wants to help.

Don’t hesitate to bring your 4 legged children to Dr Machala. For 3 years my 4 legged son has had his body covered in sores, couldn’t stop gaining weight and had become so lethargic. Almost $4,000 late I finally found a vet that took the time. She cared! Asked so many questions and listened !! Her first assumption was spot, thyroid problems. Within 3 weeks our baby is a baby again. His energy is through the roof and his skin is immaculate. He’s a puppy again and I can see it in his eyes when he’s making up for lost Play time. FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY FAMILIES HEARTS WE THANK YOU DR.

I would give 2.5 stars if it were an option Weve been going to this vet more more than 20 years and before a few years ago I’d give them 4-5 stars consistently But in the last few years the prices have gone up a good amount yet service isn’t as good as it use to be. The staff are sweet and friendly but this clinic is almost always booked full for days or a week plus. They now close on most Saturdays, so when they’re booked we can’t now squeeze in on Saturdays. And even though my dog doesn’t bite hard (she only gives warning light bites and is of a breed of medium bite force, nothing like a pitbull or anything), they won’t cut my dogs nails out of fear. This is frustrating because they are trained animal professionals, literally who am I supposed to have cut my dogs nails if they won’t? This is not a bad clinic, but I certainly can’t give them any higher than 2.5 stars now that they price themselves as a really high end clinic yet won’t cut my dogs nails and are rarely available
