How to Save Money at Animal Hospital of Ennis PC
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Buyer beware, I have used this business in the past and was always pleased. But today I took my dog in to have the Doctor look and give me a price to remove a place on his chest. I was given a price of right around $300.00 for the services to be preformed. I agreed with the price and left my dog to have the service preformed. When I arrived to pick my dog up I was informed that the bill was not $300 but was actually $478.53. And then after the shock of the price being $178.53 more than I was given I ask why it was not even close to the $300. Then I was informed that the Doctor forgot to add in the $178 of extras. So I felt I had no option but to pay the $178 if I want my dog. So I gave them my card and paid for the Doctors mistake. I took my dog and receipt and left. When I got home I looked at the bill and it's was for $478.53 but the charge to my card was actually $496.47. There was another fee that they didn't bother to tell me about for $17.94 a Procurement fee. So all together I feel when you give a customer a price for a service your going to perform before they agree to having the service preformed the leased you could do is get close to that price.

I've been using Ennis Veterinary clinic for many years. Yesterday on March 6, 2025 I had to take my almost 15 year old cat Chocolate to them. He was having trouble walking and was falling over. After seeing the awesome Doctor and staff and receiving the best care he was given medicine and after only giving him 3 pills this afternoon he was walking 98% better this afternoon. I can't thank them enough since Chocolate is my late husband cat. Thank you so much for taking care of all my fur babies.

We took out new puppy in for a wellness visit, after we adopted her at 3 months. They were extremally through in going over her previous medical records, gave great advice as we are a new puppy owner and gave the necessary shots, and medication.

We started coming here in November of 2022. My Shih Tzu had a mammory tumor that grew over night is what it seemed like. Dr.Weaver was so professional and thorough on the outcomes, options, and future for our fur baby. I felt confident that he would do what he needed to, to get our girl better. She has a high level heart murmur and had a hernia. Little dogs come with health problems. He successfully removed her mammory tumor and a couple months later successfully removed her hernia that was growing and was able to spay her at the same time. She is a NEW dog. We are beyond thankful for Dr. Weaver and his assistant. I’m so glad I found them! Forever coming here now. All around great experience and care. Update. Willow crossed the rainbow bridge in June of this year. I believe she was given just enough “extra” time with us as a brand new dog. She ran around and played for ever as if she was a puppy again. She wasn’t too old but her murmur was so severe she shouldn’t have even made it through 2 surgeries. I’m so grateful for her time with us and I just want to say that I’m thankful I found this office as a third option and that Dr.Weaver helped Willow live her best life at the end. Always get more than 1/2 opinions, don’t wait, ask around. And love on your babies. *Willow had cardiac arrest overnight In June, she was 10* she will have her first Heavenly birthday next week 🤍
