How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Veterinary Eye Institute Dallas
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We are grateful to the Veterinary Eye Institute of Dallas for helping our six-year-old boxer, Lulu, recover from an eye ulceration. The medical team was skilled and provided excellent care, and we truly appreciate that her eye has healed well. However, our experience with the non-medical side of the practice left us with some concerns. Specifically, we were surprised by an unexpected charge for a follow-up visit, which we assumed was included in the cost of the initial procedure (over $675). While we understand that practices have their own billing policies, we were not clearly informed in advance that there would be an additional fee for the follow-up. Transparent communication about costs, especially for post-procedure care, is essential in fostering trust with clients. Additionally, the way our concern was addressed left an unfortunate aftertaste. Rather than engaging in a constructive dialogue, management responded with an implication that our inquiry was “aggressive.” This characterization felt disproportionate and unnecessary. Expressing confusion or frustration about unexpected charges should be something front-facing staff can handle without it being escalated into a broader issue. I.e. Emma B. The manager. Ultimately, while we are happy with Lulu’s outcome, we feel the practice could improve in terms of pricing transparency and client communication. Veterinary care is not just about medical treatment—it’s also about the overall experience, and we hope the clinic takes this feedback into consideration.

My little schnauzer had developed a tumor on her eyelid that had become painful & irritated. These doctors & nurses & staff were the best I could have ever ask for! The tumor was removed successfully & now, 6 weeks later...you cant even tell there was any problem there whatsoever. They were very understanding & patient with my dog. Well done!!

I brought my kitty Wallace here for diagnosis and treatment for his Glaucoma and I truthfully only have good things to say about this center. Dr Telford, the vet tech, and the front desk are always warm and welcoming and you can tell they really care about everyone that comes in. I know this office is pricey, however they don’t push for unnecessary tests or treatments and really work with what works for you and your pet. I’m happy I trusted them with my little guy and would recommend them to anyone in a similar situation to see them.

This Clinic is quite honestly wonderful. I travel with my senior dog who needed an appointment. The office staff got me in right away. Dr Enders explained his condition very thoroughly, provided me with treatment options and a follow up to check on our progress. He even offered me recommendations for eye clinics and when we move on to our next city in our travels. Every single person we dealt with at this office was so kind and professional. And if it matters to you, prices for treatment here are VERY reasonable. I would 100% recommend and return anytime!
