Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance

I took my tiny Penny girl to get her rabies booster shot last week, this is the first vet visit we’ve had since I got her from the Plano Animal Shelter. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly, from scheduling the actual appointment to the exam and shot. At the end of the visit, they gave us a goodie bag with all kinds of feline information and pet care/toys. Overall fantastic experience, will be coming back and will recommend to friends and family :)

The front desk staff were so kind and attentive. They helped my dog immediately and had everything taken care of in under two hours, no appointment needed. Truly grateful. Ralph felt so safe and cared for the entire time.

Great experience at VCA! First time dog owner and then were so patient and kind and did a great job explaining things to me. And they loved on my puppy so well!! Prices are also fair and affordable.

I went in on 1/6/2026 to pick up my dog’s regular Simparica—something he’s been on consistently. My dog was just diagnosed with lymphoma earlier that same day, and I explained that he is currently undergoing treatment. I also clearly stated that once he’s cleared, he will be getting his yearly vaccines. Instead of showing even an ounce of compassion, the Hispanic woman at the counter looked me dead in the eye and coldly said they would still need a heartworm test before releasing his medication. No empathy. No acknowledgment of what I had just shared. No apology. Nothing. I had literally just received devastating news about my dog’s cancer, and the complete lack of humanity was shocking. When you work with animals and their owners—especially in a veterinary setting—basic compassion should be the bare minimum. This interaction was the final straw and exactly why I moved my dog to a different clinic. If you don’t have a heart or the ability to treat people with kindness during extremely emotional moments, you should not be working with the public at all.

Excellent care and amazing staff that go above and beyond make the difference. Dr. Chern, Dr. Gutierrez and Dr. Kimball all made a huge effort to help Jager out in every way possible. The assistants and techs, as well as the front desk staff are always friendly and enthusiastic. We could not ask for a better vet that really cares and puts in the effort to help make the best decisions for your pet. Thank you all for your support and kindness over the years.
