Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Adopted Julius earlier this year. We love him so much!! The staff was so helpful in helping us find the perfect pet for our family. He has adjusted well despite coming from a chaotic and cruel background before ending up at the shelter. The shelter staff were very empathetic and understanding of his struggles which I believe contributed to his quick adjustment to our household!

We adopted Onyx this year in April. The staff were super friendly, and nice! Not sure if you remember every pet that gets adopted, but Onyx was very shy at first. Around 3 weeks after we adopted him he just turned into the sweetest, playful, biggest baby I’ve ever had 😭. Before we adopted him he had a brother Atlas who already had been adopted, but thankfully we had another cat at home already waiting for Onyx! Onyx is the friendliest cat I’ve ever had I’m so happy I found him.

The Texas SPCA does a great job taking care of animals that don't have a place to live. They provide medical screening, and generally take care of any health issues. Adopt a dog or cat today.

What wonderful, loving people. Took my dog to the SPCA to be neutered and get puppy shots. The process was fairly easy, had to make an appointment and come back for that appointment just a few days later. Bissell vacuum cleaner company had given a grant which covered a large portion of the cost. The charge for neutering, microchipping, and basic shots was only $35 because of the Bissell vacuum cleaner grant. Their name was nowhere to be seen, they did not flaunt it in any way, just a corporate grant given to help cover the cost for a lot of people. On surgery day you bring your dog in at like 8:30 in the morning and check them in. due to the number of people that are bringing their dogs in for neutering there was a little bit of a line and it took about 30 minutes to wait in line, check in, weigh in, and take my dog back to the kennels. They finish things up around 2:30 in the afternoon where it is like the check-in, but in reverse. Just waiting for them to bring out each dog one at a time. The staff at the SPCA register your pet on Home Again website for you so that if you're pet is ever lost any vet, city shelter worker, or others that have a reader can scan your pet, Enter the number into the national database, and your contact information and the information about your pet comes up on their computer screen. This way if your pet gets lost, there's a good chance that they'll be able to connect you with your pet.

I adopted my sweet girl Soju for a birthday gift to myself and she has brought so much love and joy into my life- I cannot describe how much I feel for her into words. SPCA was so personable, kind and easy to communicate with during my process of choosing to meet her online, as well as meeting her in person. I will always support this establishment, the individuals who work here are selfless and so helpful
