How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Dallas Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Y'all always take such good care of my cat Mousse and do your best to make her feel comfortable even though she's very scared of leaving my home. You're very thorough and good at explaining things which makes me feel informed about how to best take care of my cat. Thank you!

We saw the new doctor for a last minute sick visit. I never received a follow up call from the doctor. When I called, the receptionist said notes said doctor was to call, but she had not. The tech called me back to say the doctor was seeing patients. I asked for lab results and was told the doctor didn't send out labs as she diagnosed in office. I asked she contact me when she was available. That never happened. Our dog was misdiagnosed with CANCER. After we received treatment elsewhere and the results were sent to DVC, I called again. I have never had a call back. UPDATE Please note that the comments below are not true! As we NEVER got a call back from Dr. Callahan, she never referred us anywhere. She recommended an amputation for a cyst. On my own, NO REFERRAL AS NO CONTACT, I sourced two reputable other opinions. We were told our our dog had cancer. We requested testing that was never done. And when I talked with other staff multiple times, a doctor never called. I am not surprised by your response as it is typically of the responses on other posts. Don't take responsibility for your failures, even after admitting on a phone with the coowner/wife "dropped the ball on this." And no, I don't need your inconsiderate comments about the doctors I took my dog to when you failed! That's when I hung up. I love that you added this post to my dogs records. I have already shared my experience with the qualified veterinarian we see now.

As a certified dog behavior consultant with the IAABC I am always looking for primary care providers who are trained in low-stress handling and have an understanding of how medical and behavior are intertwined. I have referred many behavior cases to DVC for work-ups and can't count how many times they've been able to uncover things that other clinics missed. Additionally, I began to take my own dog, Seven, here for his routine care. He is very fearful of strangers and has had a negative history in the clinic setting, but Dr. Parker and Jessie have been willing to go slow and earn his trust over time. They are flexible and suggest creative ideas beyond what a traditional vet may be willing to do. They make the logistics of appointments and payments very easy, too! I am SO grateful to have found DVC for my own dogs and for my clients!

They take the time to really understand your pet’s situation and needs. They listen to you and your concerns and give thoughtful advice. I can’t say enough good things about this veterinary practice.

I moved to Dallas for law school and was looking for a new veterinarian. My dog has always been very afraid of the vet trying to hide in the corners and get away from them when he was getting his check ups. When I was looking into vets in Dallas, I saw that this veterinarian office stated that it had a fear free practice. I read the reviews and saw that many clients stated how patient and kind the veterinarians were with their pets. Taking my dog here was truly such an amazing experience. My dog is not friendly with other animals, and the staff always made sure that he was not in a room or waiting area with other dogs or cats around. We were always taken into a room very quickly upon our arrival. Every time we went to the vets office, the vet veterinarians would sit on the floor with him and wait for him to come to them instead of forcing him to allow them to check his ears or give him a shot. The whole staff was so patient with him and always made sure to give him a lot of treats during his visit. I never felt pressured into any kind of procedure for my pet and they always worked with the budget that I had. We made many appointments with this veterinarian because he was suffering with allergy problems, which we finally got under control after years of trying back home. My dog did not have any fear walking into the veterinarians office and happily greeted the doctors and other staff. I have moved away from Dallas, but miss this practice dearly. I recommend them to everybody. I know that has an animal in Dallas, Texas. I am thankful for them for having so much patience with my dog and for always working with me to make sure he was healthy and happy. Rico misses you all! Thanks for everything.
