How to Save Money at Anna Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I am floored at the difference here compared to other vets in the area. Fair pricing, great staff, very homey feel in the office. Didn’t feel like they were trying to sell me on a bunch of tests, etc. as I’ve experienced in the past. Highly recommend!

We had to put our dog, Winston, down recently. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. They were so patient and kind during this difficult time for our family. We had just recently moved to Melissa and this was our second visit. Whenever we get a new pup next we will definitely come here for everything. They even mailed us a card and had the whole staff personally sign the card. It meant so much to us. Thank you Anna Veterinary Clinic. You guys are amazing!

Got my girl Trixie's vaccinations here. They treated her for other things as well. Complimentary clipping of her nails. Everyone was very nice. Very clean office and reception area. The office receptionist was very helpful and super sweet. I highly recommend this Vet office.

I cannot say enough kind things about this clinic. My cat, Penny, was not acting normally and I brought her in for Dr Walker to see her and I have to say.. I have never been to a Vet that allowed me to sit through the entire visit with Kitty. They were so sweet, patient, gentle, informational, instructive.. Right from the start, when they were able to get us in within the hour due to a cancelled appointment, I could tell this was a special place. They cared for her. They cared about her. Her health deteriorated so quickly within the next 24 hours, before the results of her blood work were back in, before she passed away the next evening. When I called the next morning about aftercare services, and brought her in.. They were consoling, empathetic, and genuinely cared that I had just lost my best friend and soul mate. I had meant to write this review then, however.. I just received in the mail today, a sympathy card from the clinic, for the loss of my loved one. When I opened the letter, every single person in the clinic had signed the card to let me know they were sorry for the loss in my life. I absolutely love this place. I do not, personally, have any other pets. Penny had been my Kitty for over 15 years, the only one I've had my entire adult life. I have complete faith and trust in this place, for any future pet I may find myself eternally bonded with, and absolutely adore your staff and your kindness and hearts. Y'all are the greatest team and have gone above and beyond any and all expectations I could have ever asked for in the care of my dearest and oldest friend. Thank you all, so very much. From the bottom of my heart. 💗

I am a hot mess full of anxiety and VERY sensitive about my pups. I called them on a very busy day and they squeezed my Sam in. They kept him (and ME) calm until his surgery and held my hand every step of the way. Each member of their team went above and beyond to support us. I’ve been rescuing animals my whole life and this was my first pup emergency without my mom to help. Anna Veterinary had my back in a very scary moment, and I don’t take that lightly! #bestvetintexas
