How to Save on Veterinary Costs at BluePearl Pet Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour

I cannot say enough about the excellent staff at Blue Pearl. Dr. Waschak not only provides detailed assessments and explanations ( even with diagrams!) - but ensures that all possible solutions are discussed. Dr. Waschak is a very skilled surgeon who is highly recommended by other vets. Follow up appts and referrals are made before leaving - which is very helpful.

My dog, Dallas, was dying from a brain tumor in Feb 2019. At that time, I was going through a few critical events involving my job, family and it was around my birthday. I was hopeful, depressed, and didn't know what to do with myself! Looking back, Dallas and I made it through. To this day (2024), Dallas' health is so much better. He is happy, active and loves the Blue Pearl staff. Dallas' recovery was a process that tested my emotions and livelihood, but the entire Blue Pearl staff helped me more than they could ever know. They were kind, personable, interested in how we were doing outside of the facility, provided me hope, and showed love to Dallas. There is no other place I would rather be with all of these issues than at Blue Pearl. Even the facility is serene and has a welcoming atmosphere right down to the free coffee.

The staff was very nice and the surgeon that operated on Roxie left leg was great. After surgery that call to check up on her progress. They are good people.

I am very grateful for the excellent team providing medical/ surgical services for our Big baby boy. They are awesome and highly recommended if your animals are in need of medical assistance. If I ever am in a place where my animals need care they will be the choice for our fur babies. Staff were all so supportive and caring made a bad situation an amazing outcome. Thankyou so very much.

I am amazed with our experience at Blue Pearl. We were treated like family. The patient, Lucy, was pampered the entire visit. Dr Davis and her assistant spent extra time with us to ensure we understood the nature of Lucy’s condition and how to care for her. I am hopeful that the medications and eye drops will work their magic to allow us to avoid surgery and I am confident that Dr Davis will properly assess Lucy’s condition during our follow up visit. We were referred to Blue Pearl by our vet, Dr Harris, and it was exactly the right place for Lucy to be. Everyone there treated us so well. My thanks to all the kind folks at Blue Pearl — truly a rare gem!
