How to Save Money at K. Vet Animal Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This is our first experience with KVet. We brought home an unvetted kitten who was supposed to be headed to a shelter. However, the lil guy was so precious we had to keep him. We made an appointment for a health check and shots for a week later. However, we found out 2 days later that he had an ugly infestation of worms to add to the flea infestation that we had just treated. I called KVet immediately the next morning, and they got us in first thing. The staff were all inviting and caring. Dr. Kinnamon was great with him. He got us blood work that we had requested and gave him his kitten shots & the worm medication. The adventure in that admit we won't go into, However a second dose was needed ingredients to be given. KVet had it ready for me to pick up immediately as well as a pill shooter. The second adventure was worse than the first. They were just really great with everything we needed. I intend to transfer my other cat to their practice. The lil guy who has come to be known as "Kyle" is a healthy, sweet, happy 4 month old ball of spoiled fluffy joy! Thank you, KVet, for everything!!

I've been a client since 2016 and my 4 dogs and 5 cats, some of which have crossed the rainbow bridge, have all received their veterinary care here. We travel over an hour to ensure our pets receive the best care possible. There are times that we've had to wait 15+ minutes past our appointment time before we are called in, but not all dogs and cats behave their best when at the vet so some appointments run longer than expected. I'm also reminded that sometimes owners bring their pet in for a wellness check and end up receiving devastating news; we experienced this first-hand with a cancer diagnosis for our dog who was not exhibiting obvious symptoms besides a small bump on his head. The staff are pleasant and welcoming, and the overall facility is well-maintained. I receive text notifications and emails for each appointment coming up, as well as reminders to schedule appointments. They also have an APP which is very helpful to keep track of appointments and vaccination records.

I trust the vets here with the best care for my dogs. They will do anything that exists in veterinary care to help your pet! They are clear and upfront with costs and don't pressure you to spend more money. They always know and like your pets and care about their well being.

Everyone is very caring. Dr Sheehan is just wonderful with my dog - he can be a handful! She will sit on the floor with him and she also does “happy visits”- where you bring your dog in just to say hello to everyone and get treats , to get him comfortable coming to the vet.
