How to Save Money at Full Circle Veterinary Care

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I had a very sick dog and the local clinics I called had no availability for at least a few days. We were able to get in a few hours after we called Full Circle on an urgent care appointment which included a $50 fee, but still reasonably priced with the total bill. Dr. Stuart and Avery were gentle, caring, and attentive with my fur baby the entire time (and made sure to give her lots of love and pets). They reviewed all treatment options in detail to make sure I understood why they made certain recommendations. While the estimated bill was rather daunting at first, they understood my financial limitations and helped me figure out the best care plan based on my dog's conditions. The staff followed up the next day to check in, and answered any questions / concerns I had in a reasonable time. It was such a relief to know my dog was in safe hands after a scary few days at home. I will absolutely be going back and establishing my other pets at this clinic. Cannot recommend this place enough!

We have a bunny who had to go to urgent care for a little cut on his paw. After a very long 6 hour day of waiting in the ER vet, we got our little dude back with a little suture. The next day, he had gotten his suture undone unfortunately. We didn't want to monopolize the very inundated urgent care again for something so minor, but definitely wanted to make sure his suture got looked at and re-tied, so we called Full Circle to see if there was any chance of them squeezing us in, even though we weren't previous clients / patient (just had heard good things from another bunny owner). They were so kind on the phone and even though the day was booked with appointments, they let us know that if we came right when they re-opened after lunch, they could try to squeeze him in then or between appointments. When we showed up, they did just that! Everyone was so kind and helpful and comforting and took the time to assess our little guy and get his suture all fixed. We will definitely now be making them our primary care vet for our bun bun! Thank you!

These people are literal life savers! Full Circle vet is so awesome I feel guilty that my first review never posted. My dog was literally dying convulsing and barely breathing every night she was trying to sleep. I went to Wilsonville Vet numerous times pleading and begging to pay anything I could for any test they could think of, I was met with basic observation in the lobby and theories no action. Being fed up I knew I needed to find help else where or my Brinley girl would be dead at the age of 5. I found Full Circle by reviews like this one and I can reaffirm I would also drive from anywhere in Oregon if not in the nation for my dog to be looked at by Full Circle Vet Clinic. Dr. Frey went beyond the call of duty. When she saw brinley and her state, she immediately was running every test we could, and when we ran into slight roadblock due to a lack of confirming results, she went out on her own to consult with other specialists and very experienced doctors for hours for free just to try to help Brinley. We eventually found that she had a rare condition called Addisons disease and my suspicion of her on her way out of this world was right. The pure compassion and love for animals showed through Dr. Frey's and Full Cirlces actions and quick response, and without them my Brinley wouldn't be here helping raise my kids like she should be. Brinley is so healthy now that it's obvious she had been slowly suffering for quite some time before the signs truly hit. She is helping raise our new family pup Krypto (superman) with her litter mate and brother Chewbacca and at 7 years old still plays for hrs and runs for miles. Thank you Dr. Frey and Full Circle from the bottom of my heart, the joy and love that you helped bring back to my family's lives is priceless. ANYONE for ANY reason should call Full Circle if you need a vet, especially if you need someone to treat your pet as a life and family member, not a paycheck!

Full Circle is a wonderful vet clinic. They have been caring for my dogs for >20yrs. They are a compassionate and loving team of providers and have displayed that love for both new puppies and older dogs near the end of their lives. Their communication is excellent! I love their dog/puppy plans which they charge for monthly but they are always there for you!

The staff here is so kind and gracious. My super anxious and reactive dog is always nervous of the vet and they always help accommodate her and go at her own pace. I don't trust anyone else with me dog!
