How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Oregon Veterinary Specialty Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Franklin. My family is incredibly grateful to have found him for care of our feline fur baby. He has gone above and beyond for us to help in any way he can. He has truly been a ray of sunshine in dark times.

Dr. Franklin is the BEST! He is very dedicated and truly loves animals and really knows his stuff. My cat has a disease that 8 vets and emergency vets couldn't figure out, I took her here to Dr Franklin and he knew what it was when he looked at her. He did run tests and confirmed his thoughts. She's on medication and is doing great! The staff here is amazing, I will always bring my pets here and I don't live close but worth the drive!! I love Dr Franklin's passion and love of animals!!

8 years ago our dog Bonnie was very ill and if we had known about Dr. Franklin and come to him sooner I know he could have saved her. He was so compassionate and it wasn’t about the dollar like the other vets we went to. I highly recommend Dr. Franklin. I wish there were many more like him. When our dog passed he sent us flowers. Sweet sweet gesture. Thank you. Garnette and Jack

My cat had radioactive iodine therapy. 4 day stay and they took very good care of him and I was able to call daily to find out how he was doing. I brought a special bag of food and treats and milk for him and they gave it to him. Dr Franklin has 30 years experience with this thyroid therapy. I brought home a very happy Kitty.
