How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Laurelwood Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Dr Pacheco is wonderful He is kind, gentle, and compassionate. He is also very thoughtful and takes in consideration the cost of care and is always willing to come up with a plan that works. The tech technicians are also wonderful. I have one complaint and it’s in regards to the front staff. There seems to be such a disconnect from the front to the back and communication. No matter how simple of a question I have the front staff is never able to Answer the question. They are the front people they are the first and last people you deal with and yet do not have basic information about the products on their shelf’s. I often feel that I am bothering them or crazy that I should have a question. At times, they are not pleasant and make multiple mistakes. I really didn’t want to bring this up but consistently I experience problems with the front staff. Perhaps additional training is needed. Overall, I am thankful for the care that my cat receives from Doctor Pacheco and the technicians that work with him.

Update: Vet got back to me and was great so was their manager. Likely will be going back because of their knowledge. This place was awesome when I called and made an appointment and went in. The veterinarian was super knowledgeable and friendly but professional. I felt comfortable with the length and time of appointment and did not feel rushed or pushed into anything. They walked me through everything and what we could do and also gave me better info that other vets I've been to. Unfortunately, all that changed after I left. I took in a stool sample for one of my cats and it's been 2 months and counting since I have gotten a call about it. I tried calling 4 times and my partner tried once and they just keep saying they will have someone call me back. Super frustrating when trying to figure out if my cat is okay. I might not be going back since I am not able to get called back. Bummed since the vet was so amazing.

First visit with my rescue dog. The staff was professional, caring, and excellent. Otto (Dachshund) was calmed by everyone at every interaction. No whining, growling, or trembling. He got his annual exam (first time at Laurelwood Animal Hospital) from Dr. Fullmer. He did a thorough exam, was very informative about the issues with Otto, and answered my questions in an understandable way, which left me happy. Otto is very intelligent and senses when things aren't right. In fact, he is so smart that he has started studying how to speak Chinese, as the next-door neighbor's dog is a Pekingese. I highly recommend Laurelwood Animal Hospital.

I had been using Banfield for my dogs' veterinary care for several years but felt their health issues were consistently overlooked. However, my experience at Laurelwood Animal Hospital was dramatically different. During our first visit, the Doctor Pacheco quickly identified a severe cancer in my dog's paw. Thanks to his prompt diagnosis and effective collaboration with other veterinarians, we were able to have my dog's leg surgically removed within just three days. This decisive action allowed me to enjoy an additional year with my beloved pet. The care and attention Laurelwood provided during this challenging time were truly invaluable.

They are really good at keeping you updated if they are running behind. I took my two Berners there. For over 10 years. And now my grown daughter takes her rescue dog there. Which has a real fear of strangers. They take their time with her. And now she doesn't have to be muzzled to be exam anymore. I give some credit to the staff for that. The rest goes to my daughter.
