How to Save Money at Cat Care Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I’ve been going to cat care for over 13 years, and have always been impressed by their care. I brought in my first cat after a neighbors animal trap nearly took my cats leg, but Dr. Baxter was able to do “kitty plastic surgery”, save her leg, and she lived a healthy life for over 10 years after. He was also my saving grace for her when she became elderly and developed kidney disease. I truly believe this practice is the reason I got to have my Minnie mouser healthy and happy for a couple extra years. We now take our new stray-turned-house cat to the same practice. This cat came to us with a serious injury. Dr. Baxter and all of his staff fixed her right up and now sees them for her primary care. They are always reasonably priced and easy to schedule. I can’t recommend cat care enough. I’ve sent several close friends and family to the practice. Really wish I could bring my dog there 🤣

This place loves cats! I started going here after my local vet refused to provide particular services, so they lost my business and Cat Care gained it. I just took a second kitten there today to get started on her boosters, vaccinations, etc. All staff members there are extremely friendly. The parking lot is modest but I have always been able to get a good spot. For the pandemic, they are requiring you to call from the parking lot so they can limit the number of patients in the building. They have a nice waiting room that is decked out with cats and for cats (multiple cats freely roam the office, all friendly). Price-wise, Cat Care is similar to veterinarians in my local area (Western Hills). Some things cost more than my last vet, some less, so it ends up evening out. The vets here know what they're talking about, are very friendly, and clearly love cats. They always explain what next steps are, why certain things are done, and answer any questions you have. Scheduling appointments is wonderful here; my schedule can be weird so sometimes I have issues getting good appointment times at places, but Cat Care always has had my first choice of day and time. There is some pressure put on you to microchip your cat, but thankfully the staff isn't argumentative about it. For the most part, they respect your decisions as a long-term cat parent. Overall, I am very happy with this Cat Care Hospital in all ways but the distance from my home (30+ minutes), but that's not their fault. I would highly recommend you check out this clinic for your little one, particularly if you are fed up with veterinarians that push or refuse services.

If you have been on the fence about switching to a cat only vet, make the switch! I can not emphasize enough that the care my cat received at her first appointment was the best care she has received from a Veterinarian in her entire life. At her first appointment she was seen by both Veterinarian's, Dr. Baxter & Dr. Vasquez. I had several questions and they were both so patient answering in detail all of my questions. My cat had her blood pressure taken which was the first time that has ever happened. Dr. Baxter & Dr. Vasquez also identified a new issue that needs to be addressed that was identified from checking her blood pressure. As she is a senior feline, she needs better attention given to her as she ages. Also, all of the staff in the office are amazing & so welcoming! Danielle checked me out & made sure that I understood the directions for her new medication. She also made suggestions on ways to make the pill giving easier. Before I left, I scheduled my other cat for an appointment as I want to make sure he does not have anything that has been left undiagnosed in the past. Make the switch! I keep wondering if her current diagnosises of Kidney Failure & Hyperthyroidism could have been prevented if she had seen Dr. Baxter & Dr. Vasquez sooner.

Recently moved to Ohio with my two cats and am so grateful we stumbled upon this vet! I have never been to a cat only vet and it is life changing. Other vets I've gone to in the past primarily focus on dogs-having a vet that specializes in cats is wonderful. It's also a much less stressful environment to bring your cats into. They are all very kind and knowledgeable. They are prompt to respond and are always happy to answer any questions. We have had a few health issues with our cats and feel that they are in the right care with Dr. Baxter and team. Highly, highly recommend.

The Cat Care Hospital is amazing!! 😻 Being a first-time cat parent, I had so many questions, and the entire staff was very friendly, accommodating, and answered all my questions. I have two cats, one of which is not friendly and can be challenging to manage, but the staff took care of it without any issues. And while your cats are examined, you get to wait in a beautiful lobby with three amazing cats that keep you occupied (adding a picture of one of them). Once the doctor and staff examine your cats, they come and explain everything to you clearly and give you proper time to ask questions and make sure all your concerns are resolved. Since I am a first-time cat parent, they also suggested proper diet and habits beneficial for the cats, which were very helpful for me to know. They will also ask you before doing any treatment to make sure your bill doesn't blow up all of a sudden. They also have an affordable fees. In all, I am very happy and satisfied with my visit, and if you have cats, I would highly recommend you try the Cat Care Hospital! 😺
