How to Save Money at Veterinary Wellness Center of Green and The Cat Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I've been taking my fur babies here even before they opened the new facility in Green. The separate entrances for cats and dogs makes coming and going much less stressful for me and the animals. The staff are friendly, they explain everything clearly and let you know what the tests and various treatment options will cost ahead of time so you can decide how you want to proceed. Twice I have had to put elderly or very sick pets to sleep and both times we were treated with kindness and grace. They understand how hard that decision is and allow as much time as needed to stay with them, to snuggle them and say our goodbyes. We never felt rushed to leave them and were able to leave by a separate exit so we weren't faced with looking at other pets and their owners in the waiting area. Afterwards we received a lovely condolence card signed by all the staff. I highly recommend The Veterinary Wellness Center of Green for their caring and expert care. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional and I can't imagine taking our animal anywhere else.

My Milo loves this place as much as they all love him! He’s VERY active and they “get him” and his giant personality and keep him calm and he’s always excited to come back for his next visit. I recommend this caring staff to be entrusted with diligent and fine animal care.

This place has messed up my appointments on 3 separate occasions. I've taken off work to bring my pet in. I liked this place because it has a cat/dog separate sides. 1. Someone who wasn't me, I showed them phone logs, called and left a broken up voicemail and they canceled my appointment for it. I came in they told me they couldn't do anything, even though it was not at all my fault. I had to reschedule. 2. Dr. HART gave my cat the reversal sedative before the actual sedative. I had to turn around pick her up high on a reversal sedative without being sedated yet. Rushing. MALPRACTICE. What if it were a euthanasia injection that got mixed up? They offered me a free shave. I got rescheduled. 3. Come in with my pet. No confirmation email sent for appointment. They tell me I have the wrong day. It could be possible it was me but I travel weekly and I keep my appointments strict for that reason. I told them I am done rescheduling with them because of their 25% success rate with my pet. I have given them enough chances. My cat loves car rides but I am not trying to just take her out for fun. She needs appointments for a reason and this place just cannot seem to give them to her. No longer wasting my time and gas to see these guys to tell me I have to reschedule every time.

We have multiple pets that we bring to this veterinary clinic. They are always very patient and very helpful. They work efficiently and take good care of our animals. The prices for the care they provide is less than other veterinary clinics in the area and the services are high quality. Our vet Dr Nancy Cross is very thorough and has a lot of knowledge about how to care best for our pets. We really appreciate their services and patience. Thumbs up to our technicians Tori and Taylor for providing great care, knowledge and a calming presence. This is the best team that has provided veterinary care in our 50 years of pet ownership. Sincerely, Jennifer & Scott R.

We recently had to say goodbye to our dog of 11 years, Archie. We had never been to this vet with him before. They gave us our time and space to make the difficult decision to end our dogs pain and suffering. The cost was not too bad and we had options we could choose from. The process was peaceful and good for our buddy. A gew days latwr we recieved a card in the mail signed by all the staff. It was a sweet touch and would highly reccomend to anyone.
