How to Save Money at The Cat Clinic and Spa
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We took our 10-year old kitty in because she was not feeling well and had been losing weight. Dr. Cross did some testing and found she was hyperthyroid. She went over different options with us as to the best way to care for our fur-baby. We opted for the cure - radioactive I-131 treatment. Because of Dr. Cross and her thoroughness, our baby is cured! The techs were awesome each time we came in - both with us and our kitty. The gals up front are always friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend The Cat Clinic!

I can never say enough good things about The Cat Clinic and Spa. I've gone to Dr. Hart for about two years now. The staff is always so amazing and kind. Prices are affordable and I never feel like I'm being sold to as I have at other vets in the past. They are always very honest with prognosis and treatment options while also giving ALL options. The end of life care they have provided my cats has been top notch. I will ALWAYS return to them if and when I get a new cat.

The team at The Cat Clinic was helpful, kind and so very compassionate when I needed to get my four legged feline in for an emergency visit. They took great care of him and handled the COVID restrictions like absolute champs. Since I was unable to be inside with my baby, the team came to my car and explained everything, make me feel very comfortable leaving him in their capable hands. They were prompt and efficient and kept me informed step by step. They had him in, treated and back to me in less than 40 minutes which also included a call from the Doc to explain in details exactly what was being done and what follow up care would be necessary. The Cat Clinic and Spa will have my business for as long as I am a pet owner. Kudos to the entire team and Thank You for all that you do.

Most of their reviews can be found under the Veterinary Wellness Center of Green, so don't shy away due to the lack of reviews. I will copy and paste this one there too. I started taking my cats here for a mouse bite, and after that I have stuck with them. I can't say much on pricing because I haven't shopped around for vets that much. They were available right away when I first needed them. I recently had both of my cats there to do tooth extractions. Let me touch on the most important things: Customer Care is Wonderful. Every time I call them somebody is there to pick up the phone (they aren't open on sundays and limited hours on saturdays) I requested to be called before any teeth were extracted so I knew what I was paying for and what they were going to do to the cats. They did exactly that, and reassured me the whole time that the process was going well. I was told to drop my cats off 8:00 am and they didn't have to wait the entire day for the procedure to start. Patient Care is also great. They took great care of my cats, and made sure to send home medication with proper instructions. Care sheets, and diagrams of what teeth were remaining with a worry free explanation that I can call back anytime if anything seems wrong. They updated their vaccines and included vaccination tags with them. Also, the icing on the cake for me: one of my cats does a poor job grooming herself, and had matted fur under her legs/tail/chest. Because It is about $60 per cat to get them groomed and a sanitary shave, I was going to wait until after the extraction (due to the cost) to have them groomed. However the vet trimmed the matted fur off of her that was just a really considerate thing to do. They sent them home with medication, treats, and a couple small mouse toys. They are just taking good care of your cats in there. They also have feliway things and calming blankets to make them much more comfortable. Everyone from the vet assistants to the doctors themselves go above their way to make the visit as smooth as possible. If your cat is a new patient they send a very sweet thank you/welcome card home with their phone number on it.

You just can’t beat the care, people or facility. From the Veterinarians and Vet Techs, to the waiting area (complete with calming towels), comfortable exam rooms and cat-only boarding and play area - each visit, the team has been caring and taken the time needed with each of my cats, explained all procedures and costs to me and handled getting prior records. They are kind, but professional - I trust them completely to care for my furry best friends.
