How to Save Money at Full Circle Veterinary Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Christine was wonderful from the start when I called to inquire about my dog, to making an appointment to the actual visit. This by far has been the best vet experience I’ve had in the 13 years of being a dog owner. The entire team was kind, compassionate, informed and very professional. The office and venue were very clean. I would highly recommend them. Dr. Robert was wonderful. Thank you again 💗🌹

I’m a first time dog dad and my little man wasn’t feeling well. I got him from a rescue and didn’t have an established vet nearby. When I noticed some funky stuff in his poo, I was a bit panicked and worried. So, I called around a few places and no one would take him in, at least not for several weeks, but this issue needed to be addressed ASAP. After all, he’s my baby boy! When I called Full Circle, Kristine answered and talked with me for about ten minutes and made arrangements for me to have my boy checked out the very next day. Literally every staff member showed myself and my puppy kindness and warmth. They made his vet experience a happy one and now he’s all medicated and feeling much better. I cannot begin to praise Full Circle enough. They made me feel comfortable in the fact that my puppy would receive the care he needed… not to mention the extra treats and love he received from literally every staff member! Thank you Full Circle for giving Kirby the care he needed!! We will be regular patients!

Dr. Michelle and her staff are nothing short of amazing. Every time I come in with one of my three dogs, it's like being greeted by family. Dr. Michelle is wonderful and gives you the time you need to fully understand what's going on with your pet and I love that she offers a variety of solutions and talks through them with me. I couldn't ask for a better Veterinary Hospital. Oh, and the other thing that truly amazes me is that her staff hasn't turned over like the staffs at other vet hospitals. So when I call or come in, I talk to and see the same people that I've been seeing for years. I love that continuity. You're doing a great job Fully Circle! Thank you for being so wonderful to Ruby, Max and Gracie!

Dr. Michelle has always taken great care of my Emma and Ava. The staff is always great and they provide me with an itemized bill before proceeding so that we’re all on the same page. We love Dr. Michelle and her team!

Would give 0 if able to. Took our 2, then 3 budgies to Dr.M for yrs to clip wings & nails. Never advised us to take them once a year to exotic vet for physical. All her "niceness " went down the toilet when we brought boys in for wing clipping, & "I" brought it to her attention that our 1st bird baby 6y/o, had a bloated belly. Then she agreed & suggested a Avian vet in Bedford. She should have noticed this before, i said anything! Whatever that exotic vet, moron did to our bird, he ended up getting worse. I called Dr. M a# of times, obviously distraught. She never had the courtesy of personally calling us back. She instead had a tech call us, offering no comfort. We had to put our bird baby down because he was suffering. So, if you have a bird, PLEASE take it to an Avian vet at least once a year. We suggest "Creature Comforts " in Poughkeepsie. NOT HERE! Dr. Barker & her staff are amazing! She actually restored our boy to himself, so that we had him for 2 more beautiful weeks. Unfortunately, it was only temporary. As for Full Circle, ended up being a big mistake!
