How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Gates Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Everyone was friendly and I felt very good bringing my cats here. I wish there was another generation to take over as this is a perfect location for me.

The veterinarian here is no longer in his mind. I’m leaving this review in hopes to deter anyone from trusting this doctor with their fur babies. I took my emaciated dog here in desperation after she had diarrhea nonstop for three weeks. He didn’t listen to me at all for the whole visit, only obsessed over how tight he believed their collars were (my dogs are professionally trained. I know how they are supposed to fit). He lectured me in an argumentative tone the entire time about diet, instead of listening to her symptoms. I was charged over $100 only for him to suggest we switch her food. She was diagnosed two weeks later, by a different veterinarian, with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, a lethal disease that eventually leads to starvation and death if not treated. If I would have only listened to this negligent, mentally absent vet, my dog wouldn’t be alive today. At 47 pounds, she was 30 pounds underweight for her breed and age-literally skin and bones- but he still didn’t notice what was in front of his own eyes.

The Veterinarian is very nice and personable. He is excellent with my animals. I can always manage to get an appointment quickly and without my cats or dog suffering which is always appreciated. Trish, office manager, is amazingly knowledgeable and has helped me nurse my pets if the doctor wasn’t available. She is very kind and responsive. I’d also like to add that the prices are below what I’ve been charged from some of the other vets in the area. Dr. M doesn’t perform unnecessary procedures like some practices do that I’ve been to. He also gives an honest assessment which I appreciate
