How to Save Money at Tri-County Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Well, so many things I could say…. But the most important thing is that I’m being heard! After YEARS of seeing a family vet and spending countless thousands of dollars on “allergies” and meds and special food, my pup/rescue/spirit animal tore his CCL and had to have crazy surgery. Specifically with an orthopedist which was not an easy feat! Needless to say I narrowed it down based on experiences and prices etc and found myself with Tri County (also 45 mins away from my house), and regardless of it all….. I have never been happier. We have surely been through the ringer with our experiences and nonstop issues- even in surgery (which had nothing to do with the vet- rather my dogs reaction) and even through it all- these doctors and staff have been nothing BUT loving, courteous and understanding! They are absolutely one of the best and they not only helped to resolve many issues (before and after surgery), but they have resolved a lot of previous problematic issues that have now helped us to move forward and resolve the overall causes. I appreciate how honest and straight forward they were— not just taking my money and running leading me into the woods. Love the staff Love the doctors Clean Helpful Friendly Optimistic Worth it all

I cannot say enough amazing things about Dr. Torres. She is truly the best veterinarian my dog, Dougie, has ever had. She’s incredibly caring, patient, and thoughtful in everything she does. You can tell immediately that she genuinely loves her patients and treats them as if they were her own. She goes above and beyond, and her level of attention and compassion is unmatched. It’s rare to find someone who combines exceptional medical skill with such a kind heart, but Dr. Torres does exactly that. If you’re looking for a vet who truly cares, listens, and delivers the highest quality care, Dr. Torres is the one. I’m so grateful for everything she has done for my dog. Easily the best vet ever!

disappointed in the customer service here, the scheduling and their pricing. if your looking for a value go to petco, if ur looking for quality so am I. update: They responded with telling me to go somewhere else theough email? If you’re unhappy, they’ll push you out? They told me on multiple occasions? They told me once, Then explain to a second time and then wouldn’t let me talk to anybody that makes decisions. I wanted to talk to the doctor, not the rude person “multiple times”. Who even responded to me in email i get attacked now? if you wanna communicate, I guess we gotta do it through reviews. I didn’t understand the services. Nor did they build value in what I was paying for. I don’t have money to waste You can’t make up the prices as I go. I tried to reschedule or cancle, and you wanted to fine me. They got me for the initial fine. two in one month is too many. Weird experience for me and i gave these people 650 bucks.

We take our cats Oglum, Sheshe, and Sisco here. The team is kind, patient, and truly loves animals. They always explain everything clearly and make sure our cats are comfortable. Plus next day call after visiting... We feel very lucky to have found this veterinary clinic. Highly recommended!

Dr. Torres and staff were so friendly and helpful with our 11 year old frenchie Max. We initially came in to have a lump on his paw looked at for possible surgery but Dr. Torres recommended seeing a specialist to get the procedure done which we very much appreciated her honesty and transparency. She also looked at his overall health and was able to detect a skin infection and prescribed him medication. We will continue seeing Dr. Torres and her staff as we were overall happy with how she treated Max like her own.
