How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Gentle Care Animal Hospital at Tryon, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My dog, Annie, goes to the vet there and to daycare. She absolutely loves going to daycare and has thrived there. It's better than any other we have been to and Annie agrees :). The daycare experience has been superb, all the caretakers are wonderful and front desk staff as well.

Staff is always caring and attentive. Hence, they live up to their name as they deal with their human and four legged clients. GCAH is always welcoming. They go above and beyond and the vets have personality, especially Tinker Bell, although Tinks hair grew back, and are committed to your pets. I highly recommend them!

In over 40 years of pet parenthood in many states, I have experienced the best communication and customer service at Gentle Care - all staff, across the board. Access to sophisticated diagnostics and treatments. Costs are clearly explained, as well as options. When I choose not to use an option, I don't feel judged (that's rare). In 2 years, we have been through cancer and euthanasia, new chronic issues with another senior pet, last-minute boarding needs, and a new adoption w/existing conditions. An unusual blend of compassion, communication, broad services and professionalism.

They are scam artists. They only prescribe you solutions that will keep you paying them money. My dog had allergies and ear issues. I spent thousands of dollars with them and nothing is fixed. Every issue that I started with them is being farmed out to someone else after taking my money and doing stupid little protocols that could've been avoided. You will pay for your compassion at this place. This is a pay for care vet and if something that they did is ineffective you will have to pay for an alternative. The staff is friendly and the vets are nice, but their knowledge is highly limited and once you come across a real problem you will be farmed out. So take your chances if you want to, but you will spend a lot of money just to find out you need to go elsewhere. Horrible.

I was watching my son's very large puppy (85#) and thought he had an ear infection. They were able to see him quickly and calmed him down for the appointment. I was very impressed with how well they managed such an exuberant puppy.
