How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Avian and Exotic Animal Care
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

What a lovely experience! I was very worried about my senior rabbit. Dr. Sokolik is impressively knowledgeable about rabbit care, and thorough! In fact, each staff member who came in was very helpful. Even the person who helped make my appointment knew important rabbit care basics; she told me “age is not an illness”, and that has stuck with me. Midnight’s first medications were administered for me so that I could see how to do so at home. He is usually much more skittish at the vet than he was here. We live several hours away, but if I have any major concerns I am comforted to know that this place exists. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

I've been bringing my bearded dragon(s) here for close to five years now. My first visit with them included an emergency euthanasia (senior rescue), which was devastating to say the least. The team that saw him showed him the utmost love, care, and peace. I am so thankful that he was able to pass surrounded by folks who genuinely cared for his wellbeing and showed him kindness in his final moments. My current boy (4 years old) is unfortunately a bit temperamental with his health. He's been seen at least 4 times since I got him for a myriad of problems (parasites, upper respiratory infection, and most recently, pneumonia). I've never been more comfortable bringing him somewhere to be seen. Regardless of the vet, he has always been seen by someone knowledgeable and has received the necessary care. They have always been incredibly kind to him. At our latest visit, Dr. Boon was absolutely wonderful and incredibly attentive to his needs and what I had to say, and was thorough and complete with explaining her concerns, the results of his scans, symptoms, and possible future treatments. The staff are all kind, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the care they provide and I am so grateful to have somewhere to go where I am confident that his needs will be met (and that they care as deeply about his physical care as I do emotionally). I absolutely intend to continue bringing my boy--- and any other future exotics I have--- to be seen here.

We love our guinea pig like a family member, and their kind staff and doctors always make us feel like his health is a top priority. Thank you! BONUS: You always meet other uncommon and adorable pets in the waiting room. You never know what you get to see!

Dr. Johnson was very knowledgeable and detailed during their annual wellness check. He addressed our concerns regarding the health of our guinea pigs and we are relieved to have found such an experienced exotic vet. Highly recommended!

I really cannot recommend this location enough. They took splendid care of my bunny while she was still here. Acupuncture helped her arthritis more than I ever thought possible. Don't take your bunny anywhere else.
