How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Onslow Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I’ve been coming here for 3 years and this is my first review. This place / vets have been great. But today I saw Dr. Maxwell for my cat who’s been sick. He was simply the best vet I’ve seen out of all the offices I’ve been to. He cared, listened, did what was actually needed and not just wasting my money. He’s new to this office but not new to the field and I hope he stays for a while! Thank you for everything today Dr. Maxwell

Dr. Pedone saved my cats life. My 10-year-old cat started acting weird and he wasn’t eating or drinking much. We were new to the area, so I had not had it established Vet and I was able to get my Cat in right away. She immediately could tell he was sick & ran some tests, and we still are not sure what was wrong with him But she decided to keep him and give him fluids and antibiotics that day.. Within hours, he was already showing improvement and now he’s back to his normal, playful self. I’m so thankful… Very Very expensive, but they care… And knowledgeable staff. Nobody else in the area could get him in, I’m so thankful for them for them.

Very kind staff. They have a good system going. I trust them with my dogs. They don’t pressure you into buying products for your pets either.

Never had an issue bringing our cat Poppy in! Super kind, consistent, and everything else you would want in a vet

It had been about a year or 2 since I've visited. They still had my profile, so it was great to get an emergency appointment in at the last second (I visited this Tue. Oct. 24th). My dog was not feeling well, and they got him in with no issues. The staff was really nice and understanding, I'm so glad that they helped.
