How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Radiocat

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

15 November 2019: Took my Emma here for treatment, and she seems to be doing quite well so far after a month. Caring staff gave Emma nothing to complain about. Update 1 July 2020: Emma is still doing quite well and has gained a healthy weight, feels great to hold and seems happy. Update 15 November 2020: 14 years to the day I found her on the side of the road injured, Emma is still doing really well and has decided to become a lap cat at her advanced age. Super sweet purr box. Update 13 July 2022: Emma is still doing quite well, loves to sit on the keyboard and block my view of the monitor. Update 12 Mach 2024: Emma still doing quite well and still full of purr. Glad to have her happy and healthy at 18+.

We took our kitty here for treatment and she did so well. The staff were professional and kept in touch the whole time. Our cat is about 8 months out from treatment and has gained a lot of weight back and looks great. She seems to feel so much better too as evidenced by her energy levels and sass. We wouldn't hesitate to use Radiocat again in the future if needed.

What can I say? My cat is happy and doing great! The whole experience was great! The office staff and the Veterinary Nurses were fantastic! If your kitty is diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, this treatment in my opinion as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, is definitely worth it.

Our cat Emma Peel did the treatment last week and she did great. I did some price comparisons for the procedure in the area and Radiocat was almost $1K cheaper than other places (and didn't require a lot of testing beforehand--we had to do xrays and send her thryroid bloodwork). I dealt with Kayris for the preparation and on the day of and she was great--informative and clear, and answered follow up questions quickly via email. She gave me daily updates when Emma was there and my hissy kitty was just fine when she returned home. Glad we don't have to give her meds for the rest of her life. Thanks Radiocat!

One of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had. I contacted Radiocat as recommended by my vet after my beloved 15 year old cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroid. I called and left a voicemail and did not receive a call back within a weeks time so I called again. Calling every few days, I was unable to reach anyone and did not receive a call back. FOUR weeks after my initial call, Becky, the west coast coordinator called, sounding irritated at her work load. She explained that they had no availability for at least another month. And at that point another round of costly labs and xrays would need to be done for my cat to qualify for the treatment, putting us at around $2k for everything. Due to the lack of prompt communication from Radiocat, I asked if they could use his initial labs. My vet promptly sent results to Radiocat. Weeks later they failed to communicate with my vet, claiming they were waiting for approval from their vet in Maryland about the labwork. When I asked for the name and credentials of this vet, they said due to policy they were not able to provide this information. 5 days before I was scheduled to drop my cat off for his treatment, Becky had failed to respond to several emails, was unable to answer when I called, and when I finally reached her sounded exasperated, overwhelmed and unqualified. She was unable to answer my questions, unable to reach her supervisor, stating that she receives so many emails and phone calls that she just cannot keep up. I explained that this was unacceptable and I did not feel at ease leaving my cat in the hands of Radiocat. I requested that she communicate with my vet in LA regarding pre-op labs and straighten out the details ASAP. 15 minutes later I received a call from Becky saying "We think we cannot fulfill your needs and will be canceling your appointment." I was shocked. This place is a scam. Do not waste your time.
