How to Save Money at All Animals Veterinary Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Best care I could have ever imagined for a very sick pet. The entire staff went way above and beyond to help us. Their caring hearts were on full display and it overflowed into the way the treated our dog and us!! Dr. Ruth is AMAZING

Good service but proceed with caution... Like most things in this world, there is some good and some not so good when it comes to Dr. Kistler and her team at All Animals. Everything I am about to say is FACT. We took our dog in for what All Animals referred to as a "routine teeth cleaning" and he came back with with blood running out of both nostrils. We told the vet about the issue, and took our dog back in for an appointment. They prescribed antibiotics and some other nasal medication. Unfortunately, that was a week and a half ago, and nothing has changed. Our pup is in really rough shape, and All Animals says they are lost as to what the issue is. Throughout this ordeal, their service has been pretty good when we have taken him in, although I do wish they would have taken more responsibility. They did offer to pay for some of their post-operation services themselves, but we still ended up forking over more money for additional medications. Turns out these medications had no effect on our dog seeing as the issues have only gotten worse. The fact is, we gave them a very happy and healthy dog prior to the teeth cleaning, and they gave us back a deathly ill one. We are about to take our dog to an emergency vet on our own dime, after All Animals told us there is nothing else they can do. They are kind people. And I have no doubt that they have plenty of patients with better experiences than ours. Unfortunately, that just wasn't the case here. They seemed totally clueless as to what was wrong with our dog after what they said would be a routine procedure.

They don’t truly listen to what your worry is with your pets, we went for normal shot updates, and told them we were worried about an area that the dog is always chewing/licking. They did not even take a second to look at over, just said it’s nothing important. Meanwhile, a week or so after we reach out to let them know it had not got better and that he was ripping out his hair and making himself bleed!! Then say we would need to bring him back in!! Well maybe you should have taken the few minutes it would have taken to look at it and this wouldn’t have happened. We also expressed to them so behavior problems we have been having with the dog and they refuse to give any meds. They want you to take your dog to a trainer and the trainer will email them to tell them what meds your animal should be taking?!??!! Ummm I don’t think that is how that should work. I would think, let’s try this and if this does not work we will go over other options. Guess time to find a new vet!

I thought I'd give this place a chance because the reviews were decent, but the staff aren't organized enough for me to trust them with my cat or money ever again. My cat was scheduled to be neutered, but nobody ever told me his surgery would be more elaborate than a regular neuter and would cost more. 4 days before my appointment, someone called to inform me of this. I thanked them for letting me know and told them to cancel it - as it would be close to $400 now. While on the phone, I had mentioned looking around at other vets before canceling the appointment. BUT before getting off the phone, I remembered that at Low Cost Spay and Neuter in Noblesville charges less than $200 to neuter, so I told them to go ahead and cancel. The phone call ended. A member of their staff called me again on Monday (day before original appointment) and asked to confirm my appointment. I let them know that someone called on Friday and I re-explained the conversation, stating that It should have already been canceled. I asked if I could be refunded my $100 deposit. I was told they could provide a refund if I gave my card information. I didn't have it on me, so I said I would call back. I called back today (day of the original appointment) to provide my card info and deposit back, and they told me that nobody ever canceled my appointment and that they do not refund deposits. The manager claimed that a doctor and one staff member are going against my word stating I never canceled the appointment (I never even spoke to a doctor, so I'm not sure how that person can vouge for anything besides word of mouth from whoever spoke to me on the phone) and was heavily pushing the idea that they did not cancel the appointment because I said I was going to look for other options, even when I stated that I wanted it to be canceled regardless. They put me on hold for 20 minutes, then hung up on me. I understand a manager standing by and defending their staff, but there comes a time when you need to own and correct the mistakes they make. I've gone to multiple different vets throughout my life (all for the same reasons I went to this vet) and have never experienced this big of a mess within an office. You'd think if a manager admits it's hard to staff their office right now, that they'd take client care into more consideration to keep strong relationships. Especially if you know your staff has severely mishandled a client. I really had high hopes for this place. Hopefully they fix their staffing and customer service issues before they lose all of their clients.

After seeing multiple vets with literally NO answers on my cat’s issues & being told that he was impossible to perform lab work on while conscious because he is unable to be restrained, I decided to take him to my hometown vet (a 30 minute commute for me). Dr. Stella listened to my concerns about his nearly year-long rectal bleeding and prior experience trying to get answers. She and the vet tech, who I also loved but did not get the name of, had Coco in the back for a minimal amount of time, and were able to get a successful blood draw and urinalysis. I was elated. Not only that, but she gave me solution to hopefully help with the rectal bleeding. I am still waiting for the blood work but just this care alone has made me have faith in vets again. I struggled to understand how a barely 8lb cat could rule the vet techs to the point of not being able to do their jobs correctly. Especially since Coco is non-aggressive. We are still waiting on his labs and time will tell if the medicine provided will clear up the issue but I truly appreciate somewhat of an answer/solution. I was truly feeling hopeless for a while. I highly encourage you to take your kitties to see Dr. Stella and staff. Thank you for loving my baby.
