How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Hillman Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

They are so caring and kind. I will forever bring any future animals to see Dr. Chris! He called several times during our dog’s recovery just to check on her. They tell you like it is and don’t try and make it about money for every little thing.

UPDATED Tim came through and saved me another 2 hours of waiting. 5 min later headed home. Never in my life have I been to a more dysfunctional vet office. Brought my roommate's dog in for infected sutures after the spay they performed. They open at 8am. Sign on the door says they stopped accepting patients at 8:20am!!! The lobby is packed full of people and animals. Chaos just waiting to happen. Currently have been waiting an hour and a half in my car and quoted another hour wait. And inferred they are doing me a favor because they cut off patients but agreed to see me because they did the surgery...🙄 One would think a 5 min follow up after a spay would be easy. Clearly this office has zero respect for their patient's time or safety.

All the staff are very caring and very attentive. A big thanks to Kelly for working so diligently on my international health certificate for travel. Don’t let the walk ins only fool you. They will fit you in and work with you.

Dr. Lewis helped my 16 year old dog when no one else would because of COVID shutdowns. She lived a whole year longer because he listened and was caring and knew what he was doing. And when it was time for her to cross the rainbow bridge, he did a house call to help make the transition as comfortable for her as possible. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Lewis for this.
