I have been a client of VCA Animal Hospital in Pines for at least 15 years and my 3 pets have always been well taken care of by Dr. Berg. In fact, he is the only reason I continue bringing my pets to this vet office. I had an incident happen this past week, which is deplorable and points to the fact that this vet office is now only about making money, with little concern for loyal clients. One of my dogs has an eye issue, which dictates that on a daily basis, 2X a day, she must get a medicated drop. I purchased it originally for the Animal Eye Guys in Ft. Lauderdale, but as it is too far - I decided to get it at VCA Pines. I picked it up this week and paid 108.00, which I questioned as a month before it had been in the 80.00 range. The receptionist mentioned that prices had increased. I bought it, but while sitting in the parking lot of the clinic, I called the Animal Eye Guys and asked for pricing; they quoted me 50.00! I walked back into VCA and related the incident. They went in the back and spoke to Dr. Meechum, as Dr. Berg was not present, and she did not even come out to explain - she just sent word that they could not take back the sealed medicine, that I had just picked up and purchased, and refund me! I am appalled that this is the treatment a loyal client gets at VCA Pines! I am going to have my records forwarded and never set foot there again! It has become a money hungry machine, rather than a nurturing, honest office! To reply to your reply - I did request to speak to the office manager or the vet present, but no one came out to speak to me - although I told the front desk attendant that I could wait.

July 3rd 2023 My dog is a long time patient of VCA west pines. VCA denied the refill of my dog's medication yesterday. Dante is 14 years old Dalmatia very old and is in his last months of life; tumors, arthritis, deafness, etc. He can hardly move and the only thing that gives him some quality of life is his carprofen. VCA pines denied the refill to force a visit and scratch a few dollars from a dying dog. I will not allow any lab work, exams or anything that can add more stress to me dog last 100 meters of life and hi doesn't need no one to tall us is a family that our dog is dying. I can't force you to refill his Carprofen (thank you for this medication hi can go by himself to the bathroom) but please consider your facility is forcing an early euthanasia on Dante denied refill, July, 5th, 2023 After apologies two day’s later for pay my frustration with the lady on the phone. Ms.Ashley the facility manager decides to take all this to a new level forbidding me access on future visits to the vet clinic. After begging Ms. Ashley to please let my wife take Dante along for the troublesome visit, Ms. Ashley informed me that in order for my wife to conclude the visit I would need to remove all negative comments about my experience from social media and if I didn't she would cancel Dante appointment. I've never seen a business manager who, instead of calming down a fire, decides to pour more gasoline on it and I wonder if Ms. Ashley has ever heard about the Federal trade commission and the Consumer Review Fairness Act

Most vets are closed on Sundays. Considering this is a hospital I’m not sure why they wouldn’t attend animals without an appointment. I arrived and was turned away because they only attend animals with appointment. To me this should be a clinic. I was referred to another VCA that was closed which was not much help. I ended up going to LeadER which allowed walk-ins and is actually a hospital.

Wonderful service being our first visit! Appreciated the "Welcome Bella" sign in our exam room. Even gave markers and color page for my daughter while I filled out paperwork. Our dog was well taken care of.

I’ve had dogs my entire life, I’ve been to many vets.. VCA Pines is the best one I have been to. They treat my dog, Leo, like a local celebrity whenever we come in! Dr. Lori Meacham is wonderful. The whole staff truly make us both feel cared for. Very compassionate place that I highly recommend.
