How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal House Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

One of the most genuine and professional vets in town. If you have any Exotics, this is the Vet to have. Their mission and interest is in your pet not their own pockets.

How much does it cost to neuter my pet? I will never know. It costs $85 and time off work to find out. I can’t even get a ballpark estimate. Some of us are not made of money and need to know how much to put aside from our budget. I guess only rich people deserve pets now. 🥹

I took my dog for a dental cleaning. I told them specifically not to perform any extractions. They told me they won't. Next time I see my dog, they "accidentally" pulled 5 teeth because they were loose. If they were loose, why would you continue cleaning the remaining "loose" teeth in the same way. I DO NOT recommend taking your dog for a dental cleaning here. give them an inch and they will take a mile.

We recently had Bandit, our dog there for a check up, Michelle assisted us and was more than helpful and took the time. Awesome experience and just wanted to say thank you.

I took my baby Bunny Merlin ( 9 months)here recently to be neutered. They did blood work, and checked his stool. Everything came back normal. I was told to fast him 2 hours before surgery , and bring him in the morning. I received a heart wrenching call at about 12/1 pm that they were doing Cpr on him and that his heart stopped. Merlin died. I should have never got him neutered. I felt so bad taking him through this.
