How to Save Money at Animal Eye Guys - Naples
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dear Animal Eye Guys Team, Thank you so much for your compassion and great care for Charlie Boyee. Dr. Overton performed cataract surgery and communicated every detail of the procedure. She is very knowledgeable and experienced with the canine eyes. Charlie is 10 years old and is recovering well. He follows me with his eyes again and I can tell he is so happy! Charlie & I are so grateful for this surgery and every attention to detail and aftercare. A million thank you’s to your animal loving staff!

I am beyond impressed with Animal Eye Guys! Dr. Overton and her staff were so professional, kind, and knowledgeable. They treated my very large and very reactive dog with so much compassion and were so patient with him. I was very anxious about the appointment knowing how difficult my dog is at the vet and they’d have to get in his face but they were amazing and got done what they had to do without man handling him… slow, patient and caring. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs an eye specialist! Thank you all so much!!! And Tank says he’s sorry for being so grumpy. 💕🐾

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Taryn Overton and her team. My dog recently underwent cataract surgery, and the results have been nothing short of miraculous. From the initial consultation to the follow-up appointments, Dr. Overton demonstrated exceptional expertise and compassion. The care and attention given to my dog were outstanding. Dr. Overton explained every step of the procedure in detail, making sure I understood the process and what to expect. Her professionalism and dedication were evident throughout, and she always took the time to answer any questions I had. The surgery itself was a complete success, and my dog's vision has been remarkably restored. The post-operative care and instructions were clear and thorough, ensuring a smooth recovery. Dr. Overton's skill and knowledge in veterinary ophthalmology are truly top-notch. I highly recommend Dr. Taryn Overton to anyone in need of an ophthalmologist for their pets. She is not only an excellent surgeon but also a compassionate and caring professional who truly goes above and beyond for her patients. Thank you, Dr. Overton, for giving my dog the gift of sight again! ---

I have an English bulldog that had severe Entropion, which is the eyelashes growing inward. I took my dog to a vet I knew on the East Coast and the entropion surgery results were not successful. After a few months my dog was having the same eye issues and was absolutely miserable. I contacted animal eye guys and they were fantastic. They specialize in eye issues and my bulldog has not had any eye issues since going to animal eye guys. In short, there's no need to shop around, when it comes to eyes, Dr. Overton and animal eye guys is absolutely the way to go and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I could not recommend Dr. Overton and her staff more. We had to have an emergency surgery for our cat with the recovery time leading up to our wedding/honeymoon. Without Dr. Overton's meticulous skills and the help of staff, we truly would not have been able to have the wedding we wanted or go on our honeymoon. She quite literally saved our wedding weekend! We are so so grateful and recommend this team to anyone who needs a safe, helpful, and experienced animal eye team. Thank you AEG!
