How to Save Money at Lake Worth Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Lake Worth Animal Hospital is the best veterinarian clinic I've ever experienced. My senior cat "Cuddles" was in critical condition, and I was not confident enough in the DVM she was seeing prior. I Googled "Best veterinarian Hospital near me" and they were highy recommended. I called LWAH on a Friday, and they took her in right away, and started working on her. They saved her life. The DVM's and nurses that work there genuinely care for every animal that comes through their doors, and have the greatest intentions for the wellness and proper care for your precious animals. They are extremely affordable and I have 100 percent confidence in their work. The receptionist is super kind and very responsive. Cuddles has as 2nd chance because of LWAH. Again, thank you for saving my beloved cat. I will forever be a client of yours, and thank you for the continued care you are giving Cuddles.❤️ I wish I found you sooner.

We have been taking all our dogs to Lake Worth Animal Hospital for over 20 years. We love Dr. Morales! She is far and above any animal veteriary practice, animal clinic or hospital we've ever used prior to Lake Worth Animal Hospital in all areas of veterinary care. We highly recommend! When your canine friend needs more help than you can give, this type of terrific experience is what you want. I was greeted with kindness from Christine the moment I walked in. The good care, thorough exam from Dr. Young, compassion they showed and, the willingness to take me in so quickly has made this one of the best experiences I've had with a service based business. I'd recommend this Veterinarian office over and over. Thank you from our canine Daisy and, her humans!

The vet experience is generally fine. it's nice that they'll text with you about appointments and stuff, but the prices are downright exorbitant. when I asked them why the annual vaccines for a cat cost twice as much through them vs. other vets, they straight up told me it's because other vets provide lower quality care. Even though the vet that I'm bringing them to now managed to diagnose one of my cats with a viral infection after Lake Worth Animal Hospital treated him with antibiotics for over a month insisting it was bacterial. mistakes are mistakes and humans are human, but implying that anyone who charges less than you must be providing lower quality service is a scummy thing to do. I thought these folks were a part of the community because they're local, but they don't act like it. oh and the first time i asked why their prices were so high, they said "that's just what the lab charges", so they've got multiple excuses for their prices. *edit - what an absurd and disingenuous response. I straight up asked you to explain why your prices were twice as much, and you told me the reason was quality. me: why are your prices twice as much as anybody else. you: quality. me: so you're telling me that the reason for the price difference is a difference in quality. you: how dare you repeat my words back to me

The staff are always helpful and kind to our animals. They take the extra time to explain things and answer questions which helps in the process of at home care. Thank you for loving our pets too.
