How to Save Money at EveryPet

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I could not be happier with our experience with FCNHP. We run a very high volume rescue and fix upwards of 300 cats and dogs a year amd that's grows every year. We have recently started using them and I will say of ALL the clinics I use and have used they are BY FAR the most courteous people and vets to work with. Everyone greets you with a smile and no one is rude like we don't matter. I would recommend them over and over again! I plan to continue using them even when our normal clinic opens back up for us. Im that happy about our experience! Thank you for all the hard work you guys do for the dogs and cats in the area. Sincerely Heather Gavitt Owner of South Georgia Equine Rescue Inc Waynesville Ga

PLEASE DO NOT take your pet here at all. Especially not to get spayed or neutered. If you are tight on money please find somewhere else or your pets primary! I took my dog here to get neutered and it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made. I dropped him off with no matts in his fur and clean. I picked him up with a CLAMP on his testicles,(which I spoke to a real vet about and I was told that was absolutely not supposed to be there!)matts all over, and dried poop allll over him. His tail, his body, and his paws. I am so devastated because I feel like he is in so much more than he needs to be because the experience is already painful. I understand that they are busy but it is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE to be this negligent! I am honestly considering suing!!!!

Took my dog to get spayed here two weeks ago and didn’t know I’d paid $150 for kennel cough with the package. She has now given it to all of my rescues. I called Cassat and Norwood location and have gotten the answer that it’s “my fault”??? Will NEVER be bringing any of my animals here again. We’ve spent thousands of dollars on animals here and they offer no resolutions for this? I’m now going to be left with thousands of dollars more in vet visits because they put my healthy dog with sick dogs. Not to mention when I picked her up she was covered in crap, pee, and scared. This place is ridiculous. I saw where they keep the dogs after being spayed and the kennels smelled and looked horrible. You’ve got animals with open wounds sitting in feces and pee. Obviously not a place you’d want your furbabies to be.

I am absolutely heartbroken and outraged at the lack of compassion shown at First Coast No More Homeless Pets on Norwood. A friend of mine rushed her dog Jack here on September 29th around 4:15 pm because he was struggling to breathe, desperate for help. Instead of receiving care, she was turned away and told to go to the Cassat location. Before she even had the chance, her dog passed away in the car. This was a life-or-death situation, and they chose to turn her away over compassion. No pet owner should ever experience this kind of cold disregard when seeking urgent help for their animal. A facility that turns away a suffering animal in its final moments has no business being open to the public. For the sake of other pet owners and their beloved animals, this place should be shut down.

This morning I came here with my community cat Siren to get spayed. We arrived around 0700. This is my second time coming here …as I am taking care of I guess it’s a colony of cats in my backyard, And we were told that we would have to come back at 0900 By the tech. I politely informed the tech that the voicemail and website details are misleading and they should update it so it can be more informative to people Like me. The reason why I’m concerned the first time I came here I received great care with my community cat and the care was so great that I had my husband come back and bring one of our inside cats back to be spayed. But unfortunately, That carelessness and respect received from the tech and due to understanding my comment about the misleading voicemail and online information was just very unfortunate. Just unfortunate… Kindness really does go a long way. Blessings to whatever he may be going through. But helping someone making them feel heard validated Is what human nature responds to in today’s society. We all get so caught up in our work and making a little bit of change in our pocket. We forget why we work in the places that we work at …what they stand for …what foundation you walk in the doors for ….what they mean. The type of work that has been done to prosper what you’re even doing why you have a job there? All I’m saying is Have a great day, blessings to you. Please take a look at your website, make it clear on what time the feral cats can be dropped off for others that may be lacking in the experience of technology when reading… I do spend a lot of my own time taking care of the cats running around here…I’m spending money to get them spayed/neutered and feeding them, even medicate them…just taking care of them.
