How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

If I could give Bailey at Banfield Pet Hospital more than five stars, I absolutely would. She is truly exceptional at what she does. My reactive German Shepherd girl is not an easy dog to manage, yet Bailey handled her with a level of patience, compassion, and professionalism that is incredibly hard to find. From the moment we walked in, Bailey showed an extraordinary understanding of her behavior. She never rushed her, never got flustered, and made sure she felt safe and supported every single step of the way. Her calm, gentle, and reassuring presence transformed what is normally a very stressful experience into something smooth, controlled, and genuinely positive. Bailey’s dedication to her patients is unmatched. She is attentive, skilled, loving, and truly committed to providing the highest level of care even when it requires extra time, patience, or flexibility. My girl trusted her completely, and that trust speaks volumes about Bailey’s character and expertise. I cannot express enough how grateful I am for Bailey’s kindness, understanding, and unwavering patience. She is the kind of veterinary professional every reactive or anxious dog owner dreams of finding. I HIGHLY, wholeheartedly, and without a single hesitation recommend Bailey at Banfield Pet Hospital. She is a remarkable asset to the entire clinic, and any pet in her care is receiving the very best treatment possible

I have taken my two older kitty gatos, Betty White and Truffles, to see the vet for various issues and have been met with professional and courteous customer service. The staff has called to check in with each of them and I am happy I had a nice experience so far. We love our fur babies and want great care for them at a reasonable price, and I believe I have both at Banfield.

I've been bringing my dog here from the very beginning, and every experience has been nothing short of excellent. My dog has never come back scared or anxious, which says a lot about the way they treat their patients. Most recently, I brought him in to be neutered, and everything went perfectly. The staff genuinely cares and takes the time to address any questions or concerns. They sat down with me both before and after the procedure, making sure I was comfortable and informed. The vet personally explained everything to me in detail at the end, which gave me so much peace of mind. I truly appreciate their professionalism and compassion. Highly recommend!

We are extremely disappointed with this animal hospital. Our dog was scheduled for neutering, and we were told the surgeon could also remove the excess skin left after the procedure. Not only did they reschedule us twice, but when the day finally came, the surgeon refused to do what we were told would be done and gave us no explanation. We walked away without the surgery because of their lack of professionalism and communication. Very frustrating and not a place I’d recommend trusting with your pet.

This isn’t the usual banfield I go to. I dropped my dog off, the front desk lady made me wait for about 25 minutes while she chatted on the phone, and they took all day from open to close before they told me I could pick her up. When I did come to pick her up, they told me they couldn’t trim her nails because she was being difficult. In the 7 years I’ve had my dog, she has never once been difficult or had the service turned down. The male tech, I didn’t get his name, told me I could come back and they would do it for free. For free?? I already paid for it and you didn’t fulfill the service? Then he was extremely judgey about how long my dogs nails were. They were not that long just a little over grown which is why I paid to have them trimmed. Just overall extremely unprofessional and come across as LAZY. This is the worst banfield location because of their staff.
