How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Florida Veterinary Cardiology
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour

Dr. Prosec is a miracle worker!!! After my 10 year old Maltese had heart failure and spent days at the hospital on fluids and oxygen, they told me she almost didn’t make it and likely wouldn’t survive long. But Dr. Prosec brought her back to life for me! After just three months he managed to shrink the enlarged/damaged portion of her heart back to normal size! And she went from lethargic, uncomfortable and sick back to her energetic happy self! I couldn’t be more grateful! What Dr. Prosec has done for my fur baby is nothing short of miraculous!!! Thank you Dr. Prosec and your amazing team! I am so grateful for your expertise, and care! You’re the best!

I can’t recommend this doctor enough. After my dog was given 6 months to live by another practitioner, we are now at 8 months after her diagnosis and her condition, although serious, has stabilized thanks to the love and care from Dr. Prosek. Is is evident this man loves animals and loves his job, as well as being an expert in his craft. He takes the time to speak to you, he is Genuinely happy to see your animal and does the echo with you, the owner, in the room. I fully credit him and his care and support for getting my tater to her 9th birthday and I’m looking forward to seeing her make her 10th! Thanks Dr. Prosek. Oh and his team are all superstars as well.

FIVE STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH—If your pet has a heart condition, THIS is where you need to be. Dr. Prosek doesn’t have a vet practice, he has a calling. He is deeply knowledgeable about what can go wrong with our pet’s hearts and he keeps himself at the forefront of treatments available. He is the gold standard. And, as patient and caring as he is with the animals, Dr. Prosek is equally as such with the humans. He answers my myriad questions, watches videos I’ve taken of Rebel’s breathing, and seeks to reduce my anxiety during our visits. His energy is warm, he injects humor where appropriate and his demeanor is calm. He fosters that same energy in his offices with his team; to a one, they are stellar human beings. Our animals are our family. We do our best for family. So if you find yourself in need of cardiac care for your little one, just go straight to Dr. Prosek and know that they are in the best possible hands. I’m so thankful that I found him. And Rebel is thriving! My thanks to the doctor and the team. Kimberly

I’m so grateful to Dr. Prosek and Florida Veterinary Cardiology. Last year, when I first brought Rocky, he had an enlarged heart, respiratory issues, and was at risk of heart failure. Less than a year later, with the care and treatment plan from Dr. Prosek, Rocky’s condition improved more than I could have hoped. His heart enlargement is now very mild, he’s breathing well, and there is no evidence of congestive heart failure. Thank you for taking such incredible care of my boy. ❤️

I just learned my king charles-Ginger has a heart murmur and visited Dr. Prozek for 1st time. His manner was amazing-his humane approach was comforting. He jokes, he takes his time and even did visuals drawings for us to understand the condition. I left with a diagnosis & medications but left with peace & trust in this Dr. As I genuinely felt he wanted to help us...and my "baby" as he called her! All the patients in his waiting room were so grateful to him as well and some of the stories were incredible! I hope the future visits are not as expensive as the 1st, but she needed a echo to determine needs- and loved that he does everything himself even though he has assistants. I actually hope I don't need to become a regular with this Dr. As it would mean my dog's condition is progressing, but, he definitely gained my trust. I value care, and most of all vocation!- This Dr. is the real deal.
