How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Florida Veterinary & Referral Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I wish I could put -5 stars. The staff doesn't listen when an emergent pet is brought in all they want is your money. They made my animals problem significantly worse by trying to force a catheter in a cat with a blocked urethra, subsequently tearing his urethra internally causing more damage. Between 7-10pm. The cat was brought in for a severely blocked urethra and pu surgery. Which we were told the had a surgeon on staff. We didn't receive a call until 5am the next morning when we were advised he wasn't stable enough for surgery and we should euthanize him. We rushed in an picked him up and you charged me almost $4000. For 12 hours and injured my animal worse!! He was taken to Blue Pearl where he was seen immediately and a surgical plan was placed. It was verified at the surgery that his "new" injury was sustained by trying to force the catheter, by their staff, under contrast so they saw what they did when they did it. These are the worst kind of people on earth. They clearly are preying on "clients" pocketbooks with zero interest the animals welfare. They will take zero responsibility for their actions and it is very clear all they want is your money. Its all about the bottom line from another corporate owned facility. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR ANIMALS CARE. THEY ARE LIARS AND BLATANTLY INCOMPETENT. My cat would be dead if it was up to them. My guess would be so I didn't actually found out what they did once I took him to a real veterinary er facility. Instead he is coming home tomorrow after an amazing vet and team actually cared. NOT HERE!!!! RUN FAR AND FAST AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! It was never about money for us. It was about care for our animal. All they cared about was our money and how much they could get us for while simultaneously almost killing my cat. This is not over.

My dog had a bad reaction to a Rabies vaccine. Dr. Booth addressed the issue with me initially and worked as a team with Dr. Mosley. They communicated everything to us thoroughly as to what to expect. My pup was in dire condition and what they did for us was like bringing Lazarus back from the dead. She's doing much better now. The doctors were great about working in conjunction with our family vet. It was a team effort and communication was great throughout. We greatly appreciate everything done for us!

Came home from work and my dog wasn’t well. Rushed over and got some peace of mind that she wasn’t dying. Received compassionate care here and was happy with my experience. The last emergency vet I went to I felt scammed. I thought this one was more reasonably priced (considering it’s an emergency vet place so it’s bound to be more than your regular vet). It’s great that there is a 24/7 place you could go to because sometimes pet emergencies don’t happen during your regular vet hours and you can’t wait. I can’t remember but I think it was like 130 or 170 for the emergency check up plus the cost of any tests, diagnostics, and/or treatments. If it’s after hours and you’re having a pet emergency, come here.

I had a bad experience at another emergency hospital. This one listened and addressed my dog's issues. The doctor also followed up on my questions after the appointment.
