How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Took my almost 9 yr old dog for her first ever surgery (mass removal). I was very nervous but she was ready to get picked up by 1pm. Everything so far seems good 😌

I scheduled an appointment for my english bulldog within 3 days in advance for 10am. 2pm and Dr. Akins still hasn’t seen him? It’s CRAZY! What is supposed to be the appointment for? It’s the type of bread that’s not supposed to be more than 2 hours in there. Everytime the customer service gets worse and worse. This is embarrassing..

Excellent service from beginning to end, first time going to this place for my small 16-year-old toy poodle in order to place him to sleep after a sad week of terminal illness involving kidney failure and other issues. all attending staff including Andriette and Sabrina and Dr Chavez were full of clarity with the instructions on what to expect and what follows and were full of kindness and compassion and understanding for the situation that I had arrived for. They were vere gentle with all steps and could tell he was never in pain in every step. Affordable end of service package. Better end of life price than most other places. Room was clean and ready with handy tissues and was given enough time pre and post visit procedure to say goodbye. 🥹🤧RIP my sweet Chango 🐩 I love you. (Photo is pre-procedure)

Dr.Atkins is excellent but other than that banfield has been awful. First we go for a drop off, the front desk person told us we need to come another day…. “Too full” even though we had a scheduled appointment. We schedule another appointment… The front desk tells us they can not finish my dog’s yearly check up because they have too many dogs… Another issue with them I lost my card that I had on file and didn’t even bother to tell me my account was having issue. Their customer service rep from the 800 number they give you that handles billing Courtney however you spell her name was the least understanding person I had ever had the pleasure of speaking to. Overall such a disappointment, I feel bad for any vet that has a contract to work there.
