How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Panhandle Veterinary Services

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Accommodating, compassionate and expeditious. Don’t let the drive to Chipley hinder the care your animal deserves. This is a fully staffed facility with the ability to accomplish a wide range of exams. They did not disappoint. My Jack had a leg injury that was managed expeditiously and my peace of mind for his wellness was quickly restored.

This was for a rescued dog to get checked over. They squeezed her in that morning after picking her up at the shelter just before. I am fully pleased by the care given to her for a last minute visit. I called the day before and they were very accommodating. Thank you for helping her.

Panhandle is great. We love our vet Logan. No matter how much time passes, he remembers our pets name. The last time I went was to get my dog Max's paw checked and he saw him in the hallway and goes, "oh this is Max, he is such a sweet boy. Hi Max." Great experience and they take care credit if you need to have financing done to pay for expensive surgeries over time. Super caring staff. And although Max hates his cone, he is super happy to be feeling better.

Our 3yr old Bully was a new pt today. Called yesterday afternoon and was called back and given an appt..unfortunatley appt didn't make it to the computer so our wait was kinda long, but everybody else stayed on tracked. His Ears w/ fluid, swelling and also got his 3 yr rabies. From front desk to tech to Dr...very polite and did great with him. Prices are reasonable for what was done, some things a little higher, but everything is higher now a days... Clean, busy, full of dogs today with appts. Our little guy is not socialized, but he really did pretty dang good!
