I had an amazing experience with the Manatee County Humane Society! They truly went above and beyond with my dog, Gunther, when he was neutered. Scheduling the appointment online was quick and easy. They mentioned that check-in could take up to 45 minutes, but it only took about 10 minutes, which was a surprise. Even though the lobby was packed, everything was incredibly organized and efficient. The staff runs this place like a well-oiled machine! I dropped Gunther off at 8:00 a.m. and picked him up around 3:30 p.m. He went home with his e-collar and pain medication, and the total cost was only $165. My regular veterinarian quoted me around $650 for the same procedure, so the savings were incredible. The first couple of days were the toughest, but after that, he recovered quickly and is doing great. Now he’ll be able to enjoy doggy daycare and socialize with other dogs without being overly interested in dogs at the park! I’m so grateful a friend recommended the Humane Society. It’s clear they genuinely care about helping people provide quality care for their pets, rather than trying to upsell. The staff was kind, professional, and compassionate from start to finish. I’ll definitely be bringing Gunther back for his future vaccinations and other routine care. I highly recommend the Manatee County Humane Society to anyone looking for affordable, high-quality veterinary care!

Had a great experience with the Humane Society of Manatee County when my mini dachshund got fixed in May. They were so kind and helpful before and after his surgery--every dog mom knows the unsettling feeling of dropping off your pup and I truly felt he was in great hands. They made sure I had all the info I needed when leaving. Writing this review months later because I went to order some medicine for my dog through their website, and they had to cancel it. They called me almost immediately to let me know they were out of stock but would be restocking soon. I really appreciated the call!

Came up there today at 11:20 asked to see a dog that I recognized one the website that was my friends dog I brought my daughter with me and my husband the front desk lady would even let me the dog his name was Wingstop Wilson said she spoke with the behavior manager and they said they couldn’t let a family with a child to adopt him we asked if we could at least see him and she said no very rudely and walked off the lady was older with blond hair and glasses on the shorter side no wonder all the same dogs are there when people won’t let you see a dog bc u have a child she also made a comment about how his pills are expensive when I already said ik that bc I came to see him a few months to s ago lady was very unprofessional and rude about a dog bc we said we knew the old owner and wanted to adopt him. How only that one lady said he was kid friendly just takes time getting used to would of had to come back for more visits which is fine by me I don’t mind that I knew the dog when he was younger before his owner went to jail and the dog got took there and the other older lady with the glasses was like oh no he’s not good with kids he’s expensive like listing all the reasons someone shouldn’t get him I thought yall was supposed to help dogs find a home not make it harder for them it’s so sad I feel for all those dogs

My dog Diesel saw you all yesterday to have a tooth pulled. I just wanted to say how impressed I was with your staff. From the beginning when I first called to inquire about what he needed, everyone I spoke to was so nice, took the time to answer my questions and didn’t treat me like I was bothering them. I read the reviews on the vet staff and there were so many positive reviews, and I can see why. Thank you so much guys taking such great care of Diesel and being so kind to my husband and I through the whole process Proof that you don’t have to charge exorbitant amounts to give great quality care. We are huge advocates of the shelters as I volunteer and foster at TampaBay Humane. Thank you for all you do every day for these animals and thank you for taking such great care of Diesel.

So very VERY DISAPPOINTED with this place. I am not sure who Lisa (would not provide last name) is but I wanted to adopt a cat for myself and my son. I filled out the very MINIMAL application. I toured the week before and I dropped off my application end of the week. I was looking at 3 of your MANY cats up for adoption. NO CALL BACK. So I call them. They just said “Your application was denied” NO SIT DOWN INTERVIEW. NO INTERVIEW AT ALL. They did not even ask where I worked how much money I made in a lot of other I would think necessary information when wanting to adopt an animal, but in my eyes, the application was so minimal that I didn’t think it would be a problem adopting a cat. I was also thinking, possibly in the future, but this was by far the most inappropriate and unprofessional way of going about trying to adopt a cat. I’m not sure what is going on here who is running it? Lisa? Again, I don’t know her last name, but I am very, very disappointed with the whole system. I walked through three different rooms of cats and two of the rooms have Litters of kittens. There’s so many beautiful cats that needed to be adopted and for some reason I was just basically? DENIED. No rhyme no reason and after I sent an email to this person, I got no email in return so something is going on here and I want to figure out why a single mom with a four-year-old son got denied to adopt a cat again. I don’t know any reason reasons why no one would call me back after I left a message or just had a decent conversation with me. A friend of mine referred me to the Humane Society here in Bradenton. I guess I will be going to Sarasota. All I’m saying is that watch out when you go in there…. It seems like if they do not like you as a person? You don’t get to adopt. Insane. I’m so so disappointed.
