How to Save Money at Clint Moore Animal Hospital, Pet Resort & Spa

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

The only vet I will trust with my animals ❤️ The reception team works so hard and is always so kind to me and my animals. My dog goes to daycare all the time and LOVES it!! She never wants to leave! Dr. Lindsay and her team go above and beyond to make sure all of my animals are healthy and happy. I love that she and all the vets there take their time to truly listen to you and also to give your pets extra love during your visit. Clint Moore has such a homey feel to it and it truly feels like a family there. The best vet ever!

If I could give this place 10,000 stars I would!! They are literally the best! If you’re thinking about bringing your fur baby somewhere for doggy day camp or even for a vet visit, look no further!! I get pictures of my fur baby every time she’s at camp I love it!! Every time we ask Mia if she’s ready to go to camp she gets over the moon excited to go! When we get there she just runs in and doesn’t even look back! I am happy to know that she’s in great hands! Thank you all for everything you do!

I would give 10 stars if I could. They cleaned up the mess of two animal hospitals who negligently failed to care for and treat my cat for not eating, not drinking and throwing up. One animal hospital looked at him for 5 minutes and told me they can't help him to bring him to another hospital. The other animal hospital sent him home after spending the night there because the Vet there said "he will do better at home" even after I told the Vet there that I didn't feel comfortable taking him home. It was this animal hospital, Clint Moore Animal Hospital, it was Dr. Pastori who figured out what was wrong with him and an aggressive course of treatment was started. Unfortunately he didn't respond to the treatment and he had to be euthanized this morning but Dr. Pastori and his team gave him 1000 % of themselves toward his care and treatment. They tried when others failed. I have to commend this great group of Veterinarians and their staff. Thank you for all you did for Nikko.

“Blessed” is the best word I can use to describe my family’s relationship with Clint Moore Animal Hospital, and especially Dr. Butzer. My family has been taking our pets to Dr. Butzer since before I was born. And Dr. Butzer has helped keep my cat in PERFECT health for his entire 15.5 year life so far. Dr. Butzer always makes seeing my cat a priority when I need to bring him in for any “issues” (all minor so far). Dr. Butzer is so thorough in his exams, and provides so much helpful information back to me on how to keep my cat in good health. There is no one I trust more with my family’s pets than Dr. Butzer and his team at CMAH. I am blessed to have such a dedicated friend, and veterinarian for my cat. Dr. Butzer is the best veterinarian on the planet. If you live in the area, your pet will get the best care possible at CMAH. Dr. Butzer loves what he does, he truly cares about our pets, is beyond brilliant, and just an all around fun and endearing person to talk with. Lastly, all of his staff there are great - especially Erin, one of the techs. When she comes in the exam room, I know my cat is in good hands. Dr. Butzer and his team will treat your pets with the SAME level of care and compassion that you do. Your pet couldn’t be in better hands. EDIT: I forgot to add that when I moved out of Florida for a few years, I used to drive my cat back down to FL (1,000 miles) for his annual checkup with Dr. Butzer.
