How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Walk-In Veterinary Care

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

WVC at Apollo Beach is the best vet care I have experienced! I have been going there for 3 years now and love them so much. Starting with reception staff, they are so sweet and detail oriented, extremely nice and diligent...the vet techs and assistants are very professional and attentive...and Dr. K. Ramer is so knowledgeable, compassionate and she receives my boy Denver with such love and energy! He loves her and gets so excited when we go there. I love them all so much and they take care of my boy so well. THANK YOU WVC TEAM!!

Never go here for anything serious. My dog was diagnosed with cancer, and Dr. Ramer said my dog was not a candidate for amputation, but they didn’t do any blood work to determine if that was true. She just let the cancer run its course. I eventually took my dog to a different vet (Vet Next Door in Parrish) who did blood work to assess her further, and actually worked to try to find a solution. Dr. Ramer just assumed there was no solution, and my dog deserves better. If your dog just needs a nail trim, the walk-in clinic is probably fine. However, never trust them with anything serious. They did my dog such a disservice that I will never take my pets there again. I HIGHLY recommend the Vet Next Door in Parrish, as they are the most trustworthy and caring vet clinic I’ve ever been to.

Dr. Ramer and front office were super professional and caring towards my pets. My poor dog, Bailey, had been limping for a week and was in so much pain. Dr. Ramer got her all fixed up and she looks like a brand new dog! The front office and staff are so sweet and they'll treat you like family!
