How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Aspen Ridge Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We’ve gone to Dr. Taylor and Aspen Ridge for our three doggos for the past 6+ years. After we moved to a different home in golden, we considered switching to a closer vet. But literally every time we see how excited our dogs are to see Dr. Taylor and the incredible staff we change our minds. Our dog Bear passed away last week and the absolute love and respect we were greeted with both when we brought him in and picked up his ashes were wonderful. Today we got a card giving condolences for Bear’s passing that brought me to tears. The team is wonderful and they REALLY care about their patients. Thank you 🤍

Dr. Taylor and her staff are amazing. I had what I didn’t realize at the time was an emergency and the front desk gal got me in same day. Dr. Taylor talked to me for a few minutes at my appt and knew we had a serious situation. She even squeezed me in the next day for surgery. Thank You Dr. Taylor and your staff for saving my dogs life.

We've been bringing our pups to Aspen Ridge Animal Hospital for many years, and every visit reminds us why they are the best. The entire team genuinely cares, and it shows in everything they do. They’re always kind, responsive, and do their best to accommodate last-minute needs. Caroline is wonderful, and Dr. Taylor, along with the rest of the veterinary staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and thorough. Highly recommend.

Every single person that works here has been incredible. We’ve been going here for two years with our dogs. One dog is a Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd rescue who hates going to the Vet, so we started coming to Aspen Ridge based on a friend’s recommendation and we’re so glad that we did! He went from having to have a muzzle on, Trazodone, and still being so stressed he’d often poop himself while the old vet was doing an exam - to here at Aspen Ridge he doesn’t even need a muzzle for an exam (we do still use Trazodone for each visit). The Vet’s are well trained (excellent University Vet program’s) and they’ve established a practice that is tuned to what the human and animal customer needs. We love taking our four legged family members to Aspen Ridge!

This vet, Dr Janet Taylor, did not mention any risk- even for what was a high risk procedure, for a senior cat with obvious health issues. Our cat died. We repeatedly told her that he drank extra water, so he didn’t need to have an extra kidney procedure (a procedure that killed him) which she was trying to give to every cat. All he needed was to have his one remaining tooth extracted. In our bill was a charge for polishing his teeth- a cat who died with one bad tooth. What a crass insult to injury. When he awoke from anesthesia, which is the most dangerous time for cats, he was in a cage, saw another cat that freaked him out (the vet tech noted him crying) they told me not to come until later, but i believe he would be alive if id been with him when he woke up. After he died, I asked for his records to be sent to me. Of course, they didn’t send them when they said they would. I had to call them again the next day. Don’t bring your animal to this place, whatever they may care about, it’s some agenda not connected to the animals’ welfare
