How to Save Money at Sevilla Veterinary Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Oh what a pleasant experience my mother and I had with the Doctor today. It was our first time coming in for a consultation and this place was highly recommended to us. The doctor was not only caring, he was very gentle with our fur baby. Prior to our visit here, my mother's dog recently had a bad experience with a Vet and had showed signs of aggression towards doctors but the doctor here was very intuitive and understanding. He took his time with Sir and made sure he was comfortable before getting to close. My mother felt safe to let he dog go to the back with the Vet. Thats a huge step because she has been super concerned about her puppy since his last not so good experience. Lastly the doctor helped us to understand the presenting concern with our dog and made us feel comfortable to proceed with surgery. Now, my mom wants this doctor to be her dogs new Vet!! How sweet!!!

The Baseline: There is no baseline for a hospital as it provides care to the sick, including pets and animals. Clinic: The facilities at Sevilla Veterinary Hospital are incredibly clean, stylish with innovative technology for veterinary medical treatment. The exam rooms are well laid out and they like their Apple tech for the practice software. I was able to tour the facility before my pet’s surgery and I was very impressed with the exam room, to prep-area, surgery suite, to recovery post operation area. The order of operation that was a part of the facility layout works well. Staff: We are coming here for Dr. Pedraza and his amazing surgical skills, but we were also here for the equally amazing staff. Professional, kind, compassionate, and medical professional hero’s for treating my pet. Without going into the private details, my dog is recovering and is getting back to her playful loving self. I can only thank Dr. Pedraza, Junior, and the rest of the Sevilla team for the care and love! Service: Medicine, our pets health, heck- our health, is not a guarantee in life and I knew that going in for my dog’s surgery. The value in what I paid and the love from my dog’s surgery is immeasurable, so I had a good/fair bill for services rendered. Veterinarians are charitable with their care and are also not charities. With the solution to my pet’s leg injury I was happy with the service. I feel rating a medical professional organizations including veterinarians is really a zero sum game as it depends on the pet and their conditions. Most people who comment on social media with bad reviews are not be honest with themselves and their faults and are looking to blame others. Reality is that veterinary medical professionals work hard and are not perfect but they are doing what they can for their patients. Be kind to your veterinary technicians and veterinarians.

I can’t say enough good things about Sevilla! Dr. Pedraza is an angel on earth sent here to care for our furbabies! My dog zephyr was in need of some mast cells removed and we were referred to Dr. Pedraza, in the process and first visit he noticed my dogs leg was lame and told me he needed to make sure everything was ok, and fortunately we caught zephyrs cancer very early! He did a bone biopsy the next day and help us try to get the best care plan together to keep zephyr around! He’s still with us! Amongst other hiccups with other vets Dr. Pedraza always knows the best plan forward! He is innovative and saved our boys limb by doing a rare surgery and succeeding. I send all my friend there now because I truly feel that he care about the animals and fur baby parents! I’ve seen him interact with many people while in the waiting room and he is so caring with each client and animal! Also it’s so relaxing in there the esthetic is very pleasing not clinical like other vets!

This was the most comfortable vet visit I ever had. See my dog was injured at a vet which now he gets so nervous when he goes. This Dr Pedraza is gentle, kind and meets the puppy where he is at. He actually sat on the floor with him to allow my puppy to smell and lick his hand. He warm up a tab but thats progress. The consultation was through and it didn't feel rushed...matter a fact i am changing vets I do not care if he don't work on weekends

Dr. Pedraza and the entire team at Sevilla Animal Hospital went above and beyond for us during one of the most stressful times in my life as a new dog parent. Shortly after adopting my sweet girl, we discovered she had two infected cystic ovaries due to a botched spay surgery in Mexico. I was overwhelmed and terrified—but from the moment we walked into Sevilla, I felt we were in the best hands. Dr. Pedraza approached everything with incredible care, skill, and compassion. He not only saved my pup’s life, but he did so with a level of kindness and humility that made all the difference. I’ll never forget that. Knowing we have a surgeon like him just around the corner gives me peace of mind for the rest of my dog’s life. I can’t recommend Sevilla more highly—they’re truly exceptional.
