Everyone is wonderful and helpful. Brought my dog in for a procedure. The receptionist went above and beyond to find us a same-day appointment, explain the pricing, and after care. Dr. K took the time to call us twice before and after the procedure to keep us in the loop and get our consent. They also texted me the day after to check in and answered all my questions. Everyone is super nice and clearly loves what they do. Would give more stars if possible.

We had a tragic experience with this vet. Our 5-year old cat had trouble breathing and we brought him there for an unplanned check up for an entire day. The diagnosis was allergies or potentially light asthma. Two weeks later, our cat suddenly died of what appears to be HCM (a heart disease). We had no knowledge of the possibility of a heart condition or that it could be fatal if untreated. We are heartbroken and can’t stop thinking we may have been able to save him if we had gotten a diagnosis or even just a suspicion of something this serious.

Reasonable service and doctors. But EXTREMELY unpredictable and whimsical hours! The hours of operation sign outside says they will be open on Saturdays from 8am to 5pm. I am here at their hospital on Saturday at 10.20am and the place is closed! I called their number and there is no indication about the hours of operation. Another problem I have with this VCA Palo Alto hospital is how it is almost impossible to get through to a human when you call. All on all I would give this place a solid B- (B minus) grade!

This place is amazing. As background, I've been going to Adobe Animal Hospital for +20 years. After they expanded and moved to their bigger location, their service changed. It wasn't the little hospital that once cared for my many canines. Somewhere along the road they lost that community vet vibe I really loved. Ever since, I'd been keeping an eye out for a good local vet. A few years ago, while cat sitting for a good friend, I ended up having to make an emergency visit to this VCA. It turned out my friend's cat, who was a senior with a myriad of health issues, had to be put down. With my friend out of town and having to work with the doctors and nurses at VCA myself, I was blown away by their empathy, kindness and end of life care. They were professional, thoughtful and accommodated me even though I was not the owner. I was able to get see my friend's cat and hold my phone up to his ear so they could say their final good-byes. When it came time for me to find another vet for my 16yo grumpy floof and my newly adopted semi-feral kitten, this was the only place I considered. And, I've actually referred several people here before becoming a client myself because they're that good. Each visit reminds me of what makes this hospital so great. From Marisa to Cynthia to Dr. Dean they're an all around great team and you can't go wrong if you choose to bring your fur babies here.

I took my cat in for a visit- they made me bring him in at 10 am to be only seen at 2 pm. When I called in between to check on him, they were vague and not sure how he was doing(as I was not allowed inside). When the doctor did finally see him, they were in a rush, wrote out an elaborate treatment plan and did not take the time to even talk to us about it. They could have told us that they were too busy and not scheduled the appointment, instead of doing such a poor job. The worst part was, they did not consider a safe/conservative approach, their plan was x-ray, hospitalization, subcutaneous fluids, antiemetics and blood tests all at once for a cat who was eating and drinking well and had normal energy levels. Considering their prices are twice as high as other hospitals in the area, seems like they are desperate to make money and will do anything to maximize their profits. It was very clear that their priority is never the Pet. We went to a different clinic instead - they suggested a special diet and some forti-flora and everything else suggested by VCA only as a secondary step.
