How to Save Money at Encino Veterinary Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I am happy with this Vet. The doctors Dr. Lopez and Dr. Fabregas they have a lot of knowlodge. I recently brought my 16 years old Chihuahua Luna, and they gave me the diagnosis that I believe is correct, so my Luna is under treatment now and I am so grateful for the attention they have given to my dog. Dr. Lopez has taken the time to call me after an ultrasound and blood test to inform me what the next steps are to continue the treatment for Luna. They are very organized and the Vet is very clean that makes you feel your dog is in a good hands.

Such a lovely experience here! I saw Dr. Faab(may be spelling her name wrong). Not only was she extremely knowledgeable and clear in her communication style, but she was very loving to my scared and injured dog. Having a large dog, I have experience with vets and techs being very standoffish to her, and she wouldn’t hurt a fly. It was nice to see my dog being received with love. I’ll absolutely be back. This vet was worth the drive!!!!

A Truly Exceptional Experience Beyond Expectations... I rarely write reviews, but in this case, I feel genuinely compelled to share my experience with Encino Veterinary Center because what they provided me with went far beyond what I thought was possible in veterinary care. From start to finish, the entire team was incredibly efficient, professional, and deeply compassionate. I was navigating a complicated international travel process for my pet, and EVC made every step of it smooth, clear, and shockingly fast. Their attention to detail, prompt communication, and thorough understanding of the USDA endorsement process was nothing short of extraordinary. Leah, who coordinated everything was truly amazing. She kept me updated every step of the way, followed through on every detail, and showed genuine care and professionalism throughout. Special thanks also go to Hanna and the rest of the staff who helped out through emails, phone calls, and in person visits. It was a team effort, and it absolutely showed. What makes this clinic stand out is not just the speed or the accuracy of their work (which were both top tier), but the human side: the kindness, respect, and real emotional support I received. They treated my pet with tenderness and me with warmth, and that’s something you can’t fake. The clinic itself is welcoming, well-located, and runs with the kind of precision and heart that’s very rare to find these days. Their approach is a beautiful balance between top-notch professionalism and heartfelt care. If you’re looking for a veterinary center that genuinely knows what they’re doing and does it with love look no further. I wholeheartedly recommend Encino Veterinary Center to anyone who wants the very best for their pet. This place is a gem, and I’m forever grateful for the way they helped me. 🌷🙏🏻

This review is long overdue! Encino Veterinary Center has been taking care of our pup for several years now, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their care. We first started coming here because of our dog’s recurring GI issues, and thanks to the team’s thoughtful advice and dietary recommendations, she is now thriving and better than ever! Over the years, we’ve seen almost all of the vets here: Dr. Kohan, Dr. Katich, Dr. Razo, and Dr. Lopez. Every single one of them has been exceptional. We always feel at ease knowing our pup is in the hands of such capable and caring professionals. They’ve assembled such an impressive, compassionate team here. We were in today for her yearly exam and, once again, the staff went above and beyond to make our pup feel comfortable. Dr. Lopez was thorough and accommodating, and Denise and Luis were patient, gentle, and reassuring with our super nervous little girl. Our pup also has a history of back issues / back pain, so the staff are always so gentle, attentive, and accommodating when handling her. Honestly, every visit reminds us just how lucky we are to have found such an amazing practice! Encino Vet Center truly sets the bar high for what excellent veterinary care should be. Highly recommend! 🐾
