How to Save Money at Banfield Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I am writing this on behalf of my friend, whose 8-year-old Pomeranian tragically passed away due to the gross negligence of Banfield Pet Hospital. Since November, their dog had been suffering from loss of appetite and intermittent vomiting. My friend brought her in multiple times for blood work and X-rays, and your vets consistently dismissed her symptoms as “just an upset stomach,” prescribing only pain medication and telling them to “try to get her to eat more.” Just one day after a vet assured them she was “fine,” the dog died in agony at home. Your clinic failed to run the necessary tests to identify her underlying condition, and your dismissive, profit-driven approach directly led to her death. It is unforgivable that a veterinary hospital would prioritize cutting costs over the lives of the animals in their care. Every pet owner in this area needs to know about your incompetence and lack of compassion.

I have been going to this Banfield as I live in the area. After my experience with the front desk person I can find another Banfield to go to. The front desk women does not listen, as she listens to respond and is very condescending and rude. She is combative when spoken to. My voice was very monotone and I did not raise nor was I rude to her. I was given antibiotics for my pet, and as I explained to her that I did not look at them until I got home is when I realized that my dog had a reaction the last time. I did my service from a different Banfield and I did tell her that I did let them know that my dog had a reaction and we stopped immediately. And stated that we usually update those records as if I did not tell them which I did let that Banfield know as to why we stopped the medication immediately. She then proceeded in a condescending manner stated to let them know next time, which then I explained that I did not realize until I got home, though at the same time she cut me off in about 3 to 4 words in, and level of understanding that I did not know until I got home should of sufficed but she continued to talk over me and not listen, which she listens to respond and not listens to listen. The Vet at this Banfield is very nice, however, the front desk person should have active listening instead of a reactive response. I did make another appointment at another Banfield which is further but I have never experience this level of customer service. And I would rather driver a little further.

My dog Rocco - has been a patient Banfield since he was a puppy - he is 14.5 years old now. Dr. Anh Nguyen has been his vet/doctor for many years now - she is great and very caring and informative when he has health issues. They take really good care of Rocco when he visits/has appts/needs vaccines/. All the staff members are friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend Banfield to anyone that has a pet!!!

Darlene is such a breath of fresh air! An incredible, intelligent, competent and empathetic receptionist is such a rarity and she is it! So happy with the service me and my dog received here. The technician was very good as well. Gave me a thorough run down of the checkup and good information about the procedures and services. It does get a bit busy at the PetSmart that this is located inside, but it's not too bad.
