How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Avoid. Banfield has gotten worse and worse over the last ten years. The final straw for us was when one of our pets had an urgent issue, and the soonest appointment they would give us was 4 weeks out, so we had to find a new vet. The drop off system they changed too stressed our cats out unnecessarily but it helped the vet office make more money. There are cheaper and way better vet offices out here.

I don’t know what it is about Banfield, but they hired some very sweet, intelligent, bright, cheerful pet care providers. We are very happy with the visit. Think they’ve grown too big for their pants but their staff are barn not like none others they’re all very polite and professional and loving, caring animal people. Thank you.

This location has excellent doctors but absolute horrible customer service representation at the front desk. Do yourself a favor and find another vet that actually cares about your time. My last visit I was required to wait 45 minutes past check-in time to see the doctor. This visit I was five minutes late for my appointment and they insisted I reschedule. Places is a joke.

Hours are not consistent, do not match website or app (6) or even person I spoke to yesterday (5). They closed at 4 today and I had left work early to pick up a medication refill. Update: Although there is a response below that says contact us, it's just a random associate who asks you to completely start over rather than doing the homework regarding this rating and feedback in the first place. My issue is pretty straightforward... get your hours right!!!!

Never available for appointment unless you want to schedule months in advance. Was told to just bring my dog in whenever I need his allergy shot or nails trimmed, then was turned away when I did it. I pay for their wellness plan yet can hardly ever use it because they don't have openings.
