Lemonade is a new kind of pet insurance company that uses artificial intelligence and behavioral economics to replace brokers and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning.  They aim for zero paperwork and instant everything, and are obsessed with social good, delighting customers, and pets.

Waste of Money

They are in it for the money and don't care about your pet. Don't waste your money.

What's the point of this "insurance" company?

We have had Lemonade for over two years, paying monthly fees every month. My dog just had a TPLO done it costed around $5K. We received a letter of denial for the claim, why? Who knows they won't return emails. When we tried to call and speak to a manager we were left on hold or the call was "dropped" this has happened multiple times. I've resorted to messaging the CEO on LinkedIn hoping he's less worthless than the company he founded. Probably won't hear back but my hope by writing this is to deter anyone else from wasting their time and money on this "insurance" company.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

They will weasel out of every claim, leaving you to pay the full bill. Save those payments to pay your vet because they won’t cover any of it!

Big trip off, don't pay, make up excuses

I submitted a simple claim related to my lab having an ear infection. Part of the procedure involved cleaning the blood out of his ears. It was a very bad infection . They claimed cleaning of ears was not covered ($170ish total) and denied claim. I bitched and they said give more info. They already contacted doc and knew EXACTLY what was done, which is what I submitted. These people are thieves and I will be filing complaints with Florida/Alabama/commiefornia authorities . DO NOT USE THESE SCUMBAGS.

horrible experiance

Their AI claims process sets you up for failure, it took them 3 weeks to deny a claim for a first office visit for my cat. waste of time and money. I hate them.

Lemonade is a new kind of pet insurance company (they also have renters, homeowners, and term life insurance in the United States, and home policies in Germany, the Netherlands, and France). They use artificial intelligence and behavioral economics to replace brokers and bureaucracy with bots and machine learning, they aim for zero paperwork and instant everything.

They’re also a Certified B Corporation TM, and donate unused premiums to nonprofits (including several pet-centric causes) that users select when they sign up. They’re on the CNBC Disruptor list, and ranked at the top among competitors and in the app store. They’re obsessed with social good, delighting customers, and our pets.

They’re currently available in these states.
