How to Save Money at VCA Wiles Road Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Racist! From desk representative on 6/12/26: “And her exact quotes were maybe you should go to a lower income vet clinic that can see your dog to refill his prescription”. This location refused to just refill a prescription that was already on file with the company. The only vet there is overwhelmed and underpaid. Did not even get through the door. They are rude just like the Coral Springs location and did not want our business because their crumby business designs and horrendous customer service was highlighted (check Coral Springs location for review). This company is an unproductive, toxic, and absolutely not worthy of caring for your animals. Go to local alternatives and save yourself time and a headache. Short staffed means you won’t get an appointment until late July anyway. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. Money hungry business who do not care about the animals, only your WALLET and the dreaded and inescapable Care Plan. Staff was incredibly rude and refused to reveal the name of the office manager to my wife. This place will not be around in 5-10 years. Another business will take over this mess. Robyn, the hospital manager, from Sample Road, Coral Springs location has struck again and has banned us from going to other VCA location.

By far the worst customer service ever. I have paid for an entire year worth of services and have not received one service. It was convenient for the staff to fail to mention to me prior that it expires. But a week before it does they mention! Needless to say since then I have been expressing my concern of that and the fact that I have paid for a year and my dog needs his shot. Unfortunately I work far and need my husband to go with me as our dog is big. So I told her I can come Monday but that was not available. She told me the manager was out , then it changed to the manager the next day was out sick . I had to fall myself again following week after no call Friday and Saturday. Spoke to someone who did not say they were the manager but expressed everything to them And they said they were gonna call me back as they were going to see if they can extend the time to monday so my dog can get his shots monday! Again no call Friday and then monday comes around no call Monday! So i have to call. Its okay for them because they collected almost 1,000 dollars and did not provide service so easy win for them. This location needs serouis help between the lack of care for the clients lack of organization the fact that I had to call myself mutiple times. Horrible business practices, horrible customer service. Management needs to be replaced on top of it. Ive been in management for 9 years the run around I received was insane.

Iohana Niwa is completely incompetent. I wondered if attempting to see a different doctor would be worth my time but we had such a terrible experience that I don’t even want to bring my dog back! I will never bring any of my animals back here.

We've been bringing our pets to VCA for almost a decade now. They have a professional, knowledgeable and very caring staff. The facility is always neat and clean and surprisingly fresh with the amount of pets that go through there every day. The pet rooms are comfortable and allow you to see the doctor and discuss your pet in privacy. They've helped us with every ailment our pets have had over the years. They handle all of the yearly vaccinations for our cats and dogs. The prices are usually affordable and they accept Care Credit cards. They have a large selection of pet food for sale on premises. The decor is very cute and pet themed. It's always been a pleasure to visit VCA and we would highly recommend their services and care. The staff follows all social distancing guidelines. To access their facility parking you have to drive East past them on Wiles rd and make the next right to get into their parking aisle facing the right direction.

This place sucks after 30 min waiting on the examine room an old female vet came into the room telling me to keep my dog away from her and near me. Idk how can I vet be afraid of doing her job or how could she examine my dog without touching him. The rest of the staff was super nice and friendly
