How to Save Money at VCA Coral Springs Pet Resort & Medical Center

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

VCA has been our go too for many years since moving to FL, the service, friendly staff, and honest evaluations make it easy to stick with them for all my pets need. It was a bit of an urgent matter this morning, and my original vet from Centeal Park location was not available, so I decided to visit the Coral Springs site, which was only 5 min from home. When I arrived, and quick patient form had to be filled out, and they were able to pull my dog’s records from our original location. Nismo was given a welcome baggie, filled with some goodies to take home. When I made my appointment over the phone, I inquired if the Care Club plan we have at Centeal park carried over and could be used at other locations, and unfortunately it does not. Care Club plans for specific to the location you signed up. Nevertheless less, the kind vet assistant that I spoke with made me aware that there is a coupon on the website site for a free one time visit for first time patients, so I took advantage of that, the the check up was in fact 100% free, I ended up only paying for a few pills for my dog. This location is clean and well stocked with food, treats and lots of oral needs for both cats and dogs. Grooming and boarding is also offered here, and I noticed they have a doggy in the facility. It was definitely a great experience. Wonderful, quick appointment times and one on one consultation.

I honestly could not be happier with my experience at VCA Coral Springs! From start to finish, the entire staff was amazing, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. My first interaction was over the phone with Jana, one of their CSRs, and she made signing up for the CareClub so easy and stress-free. She was incredibly sweet, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process. If you haven’t looked into their CareClub yet, I highly recommend it, definitely ask for Jana because she takes the time to walk you through everything and answer all your questions! Jana also guided us through possibly joining their doggy daycare experience and made sure we got connected with the right staff members. She took the time to make sure we asked every question we needed before leaving, which truly made us feel cared for and valued as new clients. When we arrived, everyone was so friendly and welcoming that it immediately reassured me I made the right choice bringing my dogs there. And the experience only got better from there! I brought both of my pitties, my female is super relaxed and friendly, but my male can be pretty uneasy in new situations, so I was definitely nervous about how he’d do. Our tech, Melyn, was absolutely incredible. Patient, knowledgeable, compassionate, truly one of the best vet techs I’ve ever encountered. Not only did she completely ease my anxiety, but she also made both of my babies feel safe and comfortable, especially my boy. She took the time to understand his behavior and recognize what made him nervous, which is something no one has ever really done before. That level of care meant everything to me. To top it all off, the office manager, Robyn, personally came in to introduce herself and made sure anything we needed that hadn’t already been taken care of was handled before we left. I’m telling you, we truly received VIP treatment from beginning to end! Veterinarian Rodgers was also incredibly sweet and attentive. Honestly, her staff had already dotted every “i” and crossed every “t” before she even came in, which says so much about the level of care and teamwork at this office. Needless to say, we’ve officially found our forever vet home! Thank you all so much for the love, patience, and kindness you showed my babies. It truly means the world to us. Highly recommend, 10/10 experience!

VCA is amazing. My 9 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes. The regime of glucose sensors and insulin was overwhelming. Dr. Engle and all the staff at VCA were amazing. In the first few weeks I stopped in and got advice almost daily. My fur baby is doing well and I am so grateful for VCA. So grateful for Dr. Engle. ❤️

Never in my life I have dealt with someone with little to no knowledge. I brought in my dog for a wound/cleaning, charged $146 for them to “clean” the wound which turned out to be them only shaving around the wound and bring back my dog a bloody mess and then say “sorry it’s an additional 30 to cover it”. De La Torre, the DVM, yeah nice but she works for the money, not for the actual love for animals and is okay to just send out my dog as he was and say yeah I can but it’ll be this amount of money. WILL NEVER RETURN AND ADVISE OTHER PEOPLE TO NEVER COME TO THIS LOCATION. Update: Needed to come back here to update my previous review because this is extremely unprofessional and uneducated DVMs at VCA. De La Torre saw my dog and told me that it was skin allergies under his belly. Only reason why I came here to this location was because my main animal clinic was completely booked and my dog has an open wound. All they did was charge me $145 to shave around his wound and didn’t even bother to place a bandage to cover to safely transport back home and my dog was bleeding on the floor there at the room and when I asked to please cover it, she said it’s $35 to cover or we can’t do it. INSANE. She informed me that it was skin allergies, WRONG. I took my dog to his respective doctor today and immediately he informed me that it’s his thyroid! All he did was look at his under belly and immediately knew what the issue is. This is a case where this could’ve gone extremely bad and my dog could’ve suffered even more just because of these incompetent doctors. Please find yourself another animal hospital for your love ones.

Update May 2026: My family tried to give this place another chance but this place has fallen even more. They are hiring Gen Z children who do not understand professionalism (barely any people of color. I walked into my appointment and my family was not greeted and was stared at by the staff, namely a worker named Tristan. I called out the lack of professionalism and the young man began to stare at me with his increasingly red face. He continued to staff at me afterwards as a way to bait me into an altercation because he was embarrassed that I called out his unprofessionalism. The same individual called my phone and hung up once he realized it was me when informing me of an appointment confirmation. Places like this will always blame the customers, especially ones of color to avoid accountability aka “angry people of color”. Robyn still continues to be an ineffective leader and is enabler. She continues to be a gaslighter and low vibrational. DO NOT sign up for the Care Club: you cannot transfer it to different VCA location, you are locked in for the year. Go to Broward Humane society and other places for more affordable 1 time pricing for vaccines and exams. SCAM. Not a great place. I would give this place 3 stars based solely on the incredible staff—especially Dr. LeCount. She is amazing: professional, compassionate, and truly gifted. She has made my dog feel so comfortable and cared for. I cannot say enough kind things about her. Dr. LeCount alone is worth the price of admission and then some. The rest of the team is also friendly, kind, and clearly devoted to the animals they care for. However, my experience with Robin—the office manager or interim manager—has been extremely disappointing. She lacks basic professional decorum, frequently talks over others, interrupts, and displays dismissive behavior that borders on gaslighting. During a recent meeting involving my partner and me, I felt compelled to excuse myself peacefully because of how presumptive and unprofessional she was. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be an isolated experience. I've heard from both current and former staff that she has a reputation for creating division and fostering a toxic work environment. Several former employees have even told me they left because of her. As much as I love the care my dog receives here, I’m honestly not sure I’ll remain a client while Robin is part of the management team. It's disheartening to see such a great team overshadowed by one individual's behavior.
