Coral Springs Animal Hospital

I have been using Coral Springs Animal Hospital since 2020, when I moved to the area, and overall I have always had a very good experience there. The staff has consistently treated me well and helped me with my three dogs whenever they needed care. I especially want to recognize Dr. Bruce Sullivan. Every time he sees my dogs, he is able to solve the problem and provide the right treatment. After visiting the emergency service last week, I felt my dog was not fully evaluated. Later, during our appointment with Dr. Sullivan, we found that she did in fact have two small corneal ulcers. He prescribed a 7 to 10 day treatment plan, and I am already seeing great improvement. I truly appreciate his knowledge, attention to detail, and the care he provides. I highly recommend him and this hospital to anyone looking for compassionate and professional veterinary care.

My 13 year old Japanese Chin Lily started presenting with lethargy, change of character and would not eat for 2-3 days shortly after Thanksgiving. I took her in on Tuesday night and she was seen almost immediately and quickly diagnosed with pancreatitis and kidney injury. This hit hard as Lily has already been suffering with mitral valve disease for the past 3 years and is a senior. Despite the challenges that we faced I knew I had to give her a chance to get better so we signed her up for up to three days admission to the ICU. Yes—cost is high but this is standard through the industry and for me there was no price too high if I could meet it. Every day like clockwork, I received update texts, pictures of my girl, and calls from Dr. Katz about her progress. He spent as much time as I needed discussing any questions I may have and speculations on the next move for my girl. It is clear that this is a veterinary doctor that truly cares about animals, their nuances, customized treatment plans *and* cares about their humans. He is absolutely a talented, passionate, intelligent and kind human who I cannot say enough about. We also met in hospital to chat later on each day. Every member from reception, to room techs and VT nursing staff were all helpful, kind and just the best I could have asked for. Lily was released with his recommendation last night and has been doing well. I can’t describe my relief and happiness to have my only baby and soul dog back at home after a battle she would not have beaten without this incredible staff of professionals. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Our family recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Max, after his battle with IVDD. During one of the most difficult moments of our lives, the team at Coral Springs Animal Hospital, especially Dr. Gilchrist, showed us an incredible amount of compassion, kindness, and care. From the beginning, Dr. Gilchrist took the time to thoroughly explain Max's condition and all of the available options that could potentially help alleviate his pain and improve his quality of life. He was patient, informative, and genuinely invested in helping us make the best decision for Max. When we ultimately decided to help Max cross the rainbow bridge, Dr. Gilchrist recognized how devastated and heartbroken I was. His kindness, empathy, and gentle approach provided comfort during a moment that felt impossible to endure. He treated Max with dignity and love, and he treated our family with such compassion and understanding. I will always be grateful for the care Dr. Gilchrist gave to Max and for the support he gave us when we needed it most. Thank you for helping our sweet boy and for making such a painful goodbye a little more bearable. Max will forever be loved and missed.

DO NOT GO HERE! Coral Springs Animal Hospital is corrupt and does extreme overcharges for things as simple as an XRay. A typical $200-500 xray costs up to over $1000 here. I brought my 1yo cat for emergency urgent care, they said he had “pneumothorax” (which after confirming with professional doctors in other clinics, is a dramatized term) and because of this, fluid was building in his lungs. They gave me an overall $8,300 bill as proposed treatment ICU plan, when typically it should be between $2,000 to $5,000 based on further research. Complete thieves. Due to that, we went with the $700 option that includes fluid drainage & antibiotics. The lady at the desk said buying a particular insurance on the spot will have it covered, but then she changed her answer. After bringing my cat home, he died within less than an hour. Nothing could’ve been done to help him in time because the condition had already escalated to the fullest extent. The doctor I went to a few days after my cats death (for my kittens checkup) said the proposed bill was insanely absurd pricing and my dead cat likely had a pre-existing cardiac disease that’s hard to tell, which is incredibly common, and again, would’ve been too late to help him anyway. Not only my experience, but I also have a friend who had a big issue coming to this hospital as well. Whatever you do, keep away from Coral Springs Animal Hospital.

It’s surprising to read some of the negative reviews on this page. Our 11 year old Goldendoodle had a bad cough for a few weeks and our regular vet found a mass in her lungs, referred us to Coral Springs Animal Hospital. Honestly from start to finish they were exceptional. We were able to meet with an oncologist, cardiologist (who visits once a month from Seattle!) and surgeon, as well as get all her needed diagnostic and pre surgery imaging done AND have surgery all within 3 weeks of first being referred. Not only was all the staff friendly and professional they took incredible care of Coco through the whole process, and kept us informed and calm throughout. Luckily we did not have any need of “emergency” facilities, but the specialists we met with, the nursing staff and the admin team all communicated thoroughly, made sure we understood everything and made the entire processs as smooth and painless as possible. Coco is home resting (3 days post surgery) and while she’s very tired she does not seem to be in much pain, the incision is healing perfectly and we’re very thankful to everyone at the hospital for everything they did to treat Coco.
