Pet Care Center of Apopka

If you care about your pet, I strongly encourage you to avoid Pet Care Center of Apopka. My family trusted this practice with our dogs for years. Unfortunately, after the practice was bought out a few years ago, we noticed a significant decline in the quality of care. Every visit seemed to come with a steep price, usually costing $500 or more, and a constant pressure to purchase additional medications, products, or services. The final straw came a few months ago with our German Shepherd, Viva. We found a large bump on her right hip, and she had suddenly stopped eating. Being a senior dog, we were rather concerned, so we brought her in. Instead of thoroughly investigating what could be causing these symptoms, we felt that our concerns were dismissed, as we were swiftly sent home with canned food that would give her an appetite (it did not) About a week later, Viva’s condition became critical, and we rushed her to an ER Vet. There, we learned that she had a tumor near her stomach that was making her feel full, which explained why she had stopped eating. The tumor had burst, and while we were discussing treatment options, her vitals crashed and she passed away. We understand that her prognosis may have been poor regardless of when the tumor was discovered. However, we believe our concerns should have been taken more seriously during our initial visit. We weren't expecting miracles, we simply expected a thorough examination and appropriate diagnostic testing. Instead, we were sent home with canned food while the underlying cause of her symptoms went undetected. Even if the outcome couldn't have been changed, we deserved to have our concerns acknowledged and our dog properly evaluated. Losing a pet is heartbreaking, knowing that we left that appointment feeling unheard makes it even harder. Based on our experience, my family can no longer recommend this practice

My pup is a shy boy all around especially in new settings but the staff here , they're truly golden - gentle hands with vaccines ( didn't even hear a yelp) and leash handling, Doctor and nurses are kind, well spoken and informative. All my questions and concerns were met with reassurance and an explanation I could understand lol. Office and lobby are always well kept , clean and smelling great! Outside as well, if a pup did their business, you wouldn't know 🤭😉 . Love this place , ❤️

Let me say my husband and I are so thrilled to have found Dr G and pet care center of apopka. Not only was Krista the assistant very professional and very sweet to my Abby giving her lots of love I appreciate how thorough they were and checking her over and explaining certain procedures. And we had a huge long list of everything they did vaccinations exams test and let me tell you it was so reasonable I could not believe it when I saw the bill compared to the last place we went to!! We will not be going anywhere else and I highly recommend you consider taking your pets there you will not regret it. 👍👍🥰🥰

While they make sure to test your pet thoroughly they are the most expensive vet I have ever visited. I will never go back there and don't recommend you throw away your money here either. Spent $1400 for tests and some injections on a dog with blood in her stool.

Let me start with THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME. The dr and his assistant are so compassionate with our dogs. One of them has severe anxiety of the vet and they handled her like a pro. Affordable, reliable, compassionate all of the above. Thank you guys so much!
