Over a year ago, Dr. Robinson's quick thinking and exceptional care saved my beloved coonhound's life. Despite limited information, she triaged his condition effectively and routed us towards Fairfield Animal Hospital for more intensive services. He was 11 years old but otherwise healthy, save for the sudden onset of some strange abdominal symptoms that morning, but now his survival rate was dwindling and it looked like, without intervention, we would have to euthanize. Dr. Robinson appreciated the delicate nature of our crisis; providing a balance between recommendation and information, offered supports to assist us in traveling to FAH, and remained available for numerous follow-up contacts over the coming days. I can't recommend Nakusp's services more highly; without their quick, compassionate work during that critical time, Wiley would have faded painfully fast - hours, days. Instead, she gave us 358 days together. 358 days of alpine hikes, eating dried jellyfish on the beach (?? new habit at the end), mushroom hunting, just-for-dogs ice creams, homemade veggie treats from the garden, new friends, and soft mornings in my arms, breathing deep just like he did at a month old. He had a good life and a good end; rare love and mercy. Nakusp Veterinary Clinic was integral in the beginning of this bittersweet year, and I won't forget the good they did us. Very caring and attentive to my older dog ,giving many options and helpful information on how to care at home for her too. Nice to have someone who seems to love animals and care about the owners and financial abilities they have.

While camping in the area our dog became ill. I sent an email to ask questions and they were able to fit us in right away. Everyone was great and we felt confident that our dog was in good hands. The vet had a no nonsense approach and made sure we understood everything. She prescribed some medication and followed up with us a few days later to make sure our girl was healing.

The best vets I have ever seen for cat care. I wish I went to them years ago, I believe they would have helped my cat live longer and healthier. Dr Amber and staff were compassionate and supportive of me during a distressing time as I helped my cat up until she passed peacefully. They didn’t make me feel bad for all the support calls and questions. I have never witnessed such a perfect balance of knowledge, extra service and genuine care of the pets and their human family members. Plus their location is like out of a story book. They helped my cat pass away under the massive walnut trees outside instead of indoors 🙏🏽

I’ve waited a year to post this to hopefully be less emotional about loosing my soul dog after she went to this vet. My sister was watching my dog for a few weeks and my dog had a sudden onset of illness. She took my dog here and when I was on the phone with the vet, I asked for an X-ray, bloodwork and urinalysis and I specifically said “do you have that capability or should my sister be driving to the emergency vet”. This veterinarian told me to consider getting another dog. Not something you want to be told when you are stuck at school, hours away and your soul mate is on deaths door. The Vet claimed it was only bad liver values and prescribed a liver supplement and metacam. Now if you know anything about veterinary medicine, then you know that if the liver values are bad then you absolutely do not give metacam. My dog was not cared for properly, I know this because I requested the medical records and saw what was actually going on that I was not told. My dog died the next day, 12 hours later in the car on the way to the emergency vet and I was not with her. This has scarred me. This was absolutely so traumatizing and the words that I really remember is the veterinarian telling me to get a second dog? I wish she had been honest and told us she was out of her scope of practice and told us to go to the emergency clinic so my dog would still be here with me. It has been over a year since this traumatic situation happened and I still cannot even talk about this without crying. I will forever tell my story to people who want to go to this woman. She killed my dog with her negligence.
