A-1 Service from Trupanion

I would recommend Trupanion to anyone who asked me. My German Shepherd, Riley, has had several serious health issues in her life. She is only 18 months old but her vet bills have totaled in excess of $12,000.00. She had her first health issue when she was approximately 8 months old which was prior to us purchasing her pet insurance thru Trupanion. The total bill on this was in excess of $4,000.00 which came out of my pocket. We purchased health insurance for her just prior to her turning one year old. Since then, she has had two rather serious illnesses which totaled in excess of $9,000.00. I don't know how we would have been able to afford her care if it were not for Trupanion. They have truly been a life-saver.

Eva Marie's Insurance Coverage Pays Off

Eva Marie, 3 year old Boston Terrier, almost passed away from an unknown illness which the Vet gave her every test in the book to narrow it down. Had to leave her with the animal hospital for 36 hours of constant care. This is an extremely active dog who suddenly was lethargic and couldn't even stand up. But, she suddenly started to improve and is completely well. Receipts sent to ASPCA for over almost $800 and received the correct payment of approximately $475 in about 3 weeks.

Many questions...and always a person to answer

With my first claim with Embrace, I had many questions because of the many aspects to my claim. Quick Response Time

My wellness reimbursment was taken care of promtly and the customer service team kept me informed and then made sure that I had received their check. I love the "Wellness" account feature which is like a health care spending account. It covers all of the flea and tick prevention and I can always be sure that my little dog will always be able to get her vaccinations on time.

Jury is definitely out on this company

I went with Embrace due to the good reviews. I think this company has changed. My claim has been in process for several weeks and they are still asking for more information. While their reps are pleasant and polite, it doesn't mask the fact that it seems they are trying to get out of paying my claim. I have paid monthly ever since I adopted my kitty two years ago. He ate something he shouldn't have and the vet says he may have IBD. It seems that Embrace is trying to see if this is a pre existing condition to get out of reimbursing me for the procedure to remove the object. I'm searching around for a different insurance company as we speak. Feel like I wasted money with this company completely.

So Happy We Have This

We got petshealth insurance when we got our dog (now 8 yrs old) on a cousin's recommendation and are very happy we did. We did the $100 deductible, 80% of allowable cost plan and it has always been useful to us, since Mr. Big likes to get lots of silly little injuries. We don't have to make money a factor when deciding whether or not to take him to the vet for something that is clearly bothering him - if he needs treatment, he gets to go. Reimbursement has always been prompt and fair (although as I live in a major city, my vets usually exceed whatever Petshealth deems 'allowable' costs). I did discover once they have a policy that says coverage will be denied on issues that carry over after the policy term renews every year, which was not awesome, but that is changing now (and I think it varies from state to state, perhaps) and now they have continuous coverage. When we got our cat, we immediately got insurance for him, too. He doesn't have nearly as many little health foibles as the dog, so we use the insurance far less for him, but it's really good and comforting to know it's there. I always recommend health insurance for friends with new pets.

So easy to use and already saved $

I continue to be impressed with how personable the reps are, especially considering most of my communication is over email, which is such an impersonal form of communication. All the forms and processes have been easy to understand and we quickly started to save money on our dog's health care. We hear from many people that Embrace has a great reputation too, which reaffirms our decision. I'm so glad we made the choice to get insurance and go with Embrace.
